The wrongful use of Methamphetamine is associated with many negative health consequences which the user may or may not be aware of. I most cases the abusers of the drug have come to understand the effects of this drug but they tend to assume them or find themselves abusing it due to the bodys adaptation to the drug. One negative effect of Methamphetamine is neurological damage and cognitive dysfunction. This implies that if an abuser uses the drug for a prolonged period, he develops brain destruction and nervous system and in severe cases, the victim may display abnormal brain function. Chronic use also causes stress, and if one does not manage it, it leads to severe depression. This can also be coupled with psychomotor and psychosis dysfunction. They lack attention to certain details in various circumstances in life, and if they are students, they become weak in academic work mostly.

In many cases, tolerance of the drug develops with its chronic use. When this happens, the users tend to start living with social problems as they cannot relate to others well (Buxton & Dove, 2008). Such individuals may engage in fights due to the aggression and conflicts as a result of being caught in possession of other properties.

Given a chance and ample opportunity, many Methamphetamine abusers would wish to quit abusing the drug; but they mostly get addicted and develop a tolerance aspect in their lives. Abandoning the use is not simple; this is why there are also options to begin a comprehensive recovery strategy to eliminate the utilization of the drug gradually. But many teenagers find it hard to quit using the drugs due to the quest to intensify the false effect of the drug. They inject and take more doses frequently to increase its positive effects, and these lot of people end up going without food, water as well as sound sleep.

The reason as to why some teens abuse the drug is due to peer pressure, some abuse it because of their obsession with their weight. The drug when abused causes a loss of appetite, and the weight loss may probably be effortless as the abuser goes without food for long periods.
