APPLICATION FORM(maximum 200 words per answer)
Why do you want to work for us?
The company's reputation is an outstanding factor and is one of the major factors making me eager to want to be part of your organisation. I would be more than honoured to be part of an organisation that has a long leadership history in the industry.
The training that you offer to your employees is a further incentive for me to be part of your organisation as I feel it aligns with my career goals of focusing on furthering my professional qualifications, and for a long time I have wanted to be part of a team in which I can grow in to be a better sales and marketing agent.
Tell us about a time you worked in a group to achieve an objective (what did you do and what was the outcome?)
For a long time the marketing projects that I have been involved in require teamwork and this has contributed to the development of my communicational skills and I know consider myself as a strong listener who is good at conflict resolution and meeting deadlines with job that am given.
In my first month at Melvin bottlers Limited I together with 3 other colleagues were tasked with coming up with a comprehensive marketing plan for the financial year 2016 2017 and we were on a tight deadline of 2 weeks. To further make the assignment more difficult one of the team members fell seriously sick and now we were left only 3 of us to complete this task. We had to work extra hours together to complete this and in 12 days we were through with this and presented the research to the management for them to review and implement. One year after implementation of the marketing plan the sales went up by a record 45%.
Tell us about a time when you identified a new approach to solve a problem. (what did you do and what was the outcome?)
During my time at Melvin Bottlers Limited, we had this one retailer that carried all our drinks and the deal was to get our new products first to them before we thought of any other stores. The arrangement was going pretty smoothly until one day when there was an over production of new drinks and we mistakenly sent the products to other stores, not including our major partner.
Hell broke loose and at that time I was the one in customer care. The phone call between me and our major partner lasted for over an hour, as I was trying to cool down the situation. I managed to deliver to them two shipments in record time and sent a mail to them explaining what the problem was and after that everything was back to normal.
Tell us about a time when you had to manage a number of different priorities and complete a number of tasks in a short amount of time (what did you do and what was the outcome?)
During my time at Melvin's, I was tasked with two projects at the same time. One of the projects was an ongoing project whereas the other one was a project that has just been launched. I went to the sales manager and told him of the conflict and he told me that the goal of assigning me the two tasks was to see how I would get to overcome them without giving too much priority to one of them. I therefore came up with a schedule to work on both projects without over prioritizing one of them. I ended up completing the projects well and for this I was rewarded at the end of year party for this fete.
Tell us about a project you worked on that required you to persuade others to your point of view (what did you do and what was the outcome?)
There was this debate at my time at Melvin Bottlers Limited on which service provider to use for the organisations internet connectivity. The packages being offered by the two providers we seemed to have all settled for were almost similar and almost the same price. Most of my colleagues wanted the organisation to settle on the organisation that was well known, and me before I came up with a decision I took time and did my research. My research findings were that the after sale services that were going to be offered by the lesser company outweighed the ones by the known company. I further came up with a graph to further illustrate my findings so as to use it to convince my colleagues before the vote to settle on the lesser company. My colleagues were convinced and the company procured the services of the lesser company and there have been no complaints to date.

I used my body language pretty well and maintained good eye contact.
My answers were clear and easily understood by the interviewers, and one of the interviewers told me after completion of the interview.
I was the best dressed student for the occasion as per my colleagues and this gave me high level of confidence during the interview.
In order to show variety of experience, I need to find examples from different jobs I have held instead of only focusing on one. This could come across as not having enough experience to the interviewer.
In order to portray a wide range of experience I need to come up with examples of more than just the ones I had from my time at Melvin, as this might be portrayed by the interviewer as lack of adequate experience.
