In this article, Anderson et al. aim at presenting a case study of an undergraduate course in community psychology. The population used in the case study are the Hisa historically Black College and the University (HBCUs). The inclusion in the study is based on the fact that the institutions serve the individuals from the backgrounds impacted by racism as well as other social structural inequalities. The study sought to answer two primary research questions which included, how the concept of community psychology concept applies to them and what they saw in their community and what relevance does the idea of community psychology had to them.
The samples selected for the study were purely the undergraduate community at the HBCU. The data instruments used was the interview from residents/students. Other methods included site observations and other mouth and online outlets. As part of the finding, the study finds that community psychology was crucial in promoting community engagement and students to engage a sense of agency in addressing community challenges.
The limitations involved in this research. The researchers believe that the power dynamic between the faculty and students have played a critical role in influencing the student responses to the focus group questions.

The study attempts to problematize the approximation between community psychology and the idea of Deep America. This is in consideration of the capability of enhancing through mediations and translations to create social, ethnic and human life for a lifelong diversity. The researchers use random sampling to integrate participants from Ceara, mainly in the capitals as well as other regions such as Fortaleza and Sobral County.
The researchers use questionnaires and interviews as the primary instruments of data collection. The data collected provided a great insight into the capability of community psychology to enhance mediations and promotes diversity among different ethnic groups. As part of the findings, the researchers can establish the importance of social-psychological and ethnic negotiations through community psychology.
Summary
Through the research discussed, the authors are attempting to discuss community psychology with a focus on the social issues, social institutions and other settings that play crucial roles in influencing the individual, groups or even the entire society. As observed, the authors use various strategies to understand various relationships between developments of the wellbeing for all community members and health. As such, they recommend that the practice of community psychology should be directed towards the evaluation and design of various mechanisms of facilitating psychological competence and empowerment.
