Music in the United States has always been associated with racial patterns that include white black and Latin racial affiliations. Several factors lead to categorization of a particular type of music with racial underpinnings. The country's pure-ethnic population has driven the people to focus on certain musical appliances turn off music peach and beets to be associated with particular racial groups. America music industry is influenced by West African, white, Latin and black culture which is the mainland affiliate production philosophy that makes most people consider themselves affiliated with certain type of music. Therefore, specific dates word usage and symbol in music is associated with specific cultural affiliation the respect to the concept that is highly valued in the society.
For instance, the history of Jazz music offers a chance to realize the racial patterns associated with American popular music. Jazz is a music genre that started by African American communities in the united states probably in the 19th century (Decker, 2015). The type of music developed from the roots of ragtime and blues. Jazz is a music that is characterized by poly rhymes, blue and sewing notes, call and response vocals, and improvisation (Gioia, 2011). The music form was improvised and developed by African Americans but later influenced by American and European harmonics. The improvement of jazz music incorporated a deliberate deviation of the pitch, and the use of original timbres.
Originally, jazz was defined as music that has a restrictive and improvised turn of the pitch in an irregular manner. Compositional arrangement and an aspect of ensemble became an essential component of jazz music, and it was incorporated with psycho patient and swim which enabled the musical components to be unique and fact lacking in much of the authentic flow (Gioia, 2011). Hip-hop music was a cultural movement that Incorporated rapping and delivering a swift and highly rhythmic and lyrical vocals (Decker, 2015). It was started in the 1970s in New York City by most of the Jamaican immigrants that were widely regarded as progenitors of hip-hop music.
R&B music is mostly associated with the whites, and it was started in the 1930s and 1940s. The rhythm associated with R&B music is smashing away. It is also associated with behind screaming blue singers who try to shout out to be heard by clanging and strumming various electrified instruments and possibly some Channing rhythm sections. Lastly, Latin music in America is associated with influential genres like cumbia bachata nova, rumba, merengue, salsa, and tango.
