Nobody can do these changes, but experienced individuals should do it, and this issue may prompt a new manager or ahead of the department to be hired so that the change can be undertaken effectively. Many factors can influence the change within an organization. One such theory that may be used to manage change within the organization is the Kotter's change model. Therefore, using this theory, this paper will identify a scenario whereby a new manager was hired to lead and manage change. The main focus on three of these, which are the management and leadership skills required to instil the difference, how to keep people motivated during the change and the steps to follow.

Scenario

In this scenario, the government department, which deals with health care service, has faced a situation that requires a new change to be implemented. This change has been driven by the presence of various issues that are undermining the provision of health care services, such as records management. Most records in various health care facilities get lost, making it hard for medical professionals to discharge their duties effectively and is has been a grave matter of concern among the top government officials (Ben-Assuli, 2015). Therefore, these officials have decided that it is essential for change to be introduced to ensure that the problem at hand is removed so that quality health care services can be provided to the patients.

In this case, the government has opted that employing modern technology is one of the ways that will ensure these problems is solved. The use of computers to store patient's information will be useful since they have large storage spaces that will allow a lot of information to be stored. Moreover, the search features that are embedded in the computers will assist how the records will be searched, thus making retrieval to be easier. In the wake of this change, the government has had to hire a new manager that will oversee this change.

Major Change

The major change that the manager is expected to make is to implement new technology in various health care centres. Many hospitals are experienced a lot of problems which stem from poor record keeping. The rise in technology has come along with various benefits, and one of them is the use of computers to store information. Computers have been made with large storage spaces which a lot of vast amounts of information to be store. Therefore, patient records can be easily preserved and used for future purpose. Therefore, the new manager of the health care department is expected to come up with measures that will ensure quality health care service is provided to the public.

The adoption of this change is likely to impact employees in various ways. One of the ways that it will impact employees is through making their work easier. The incorporation of the computer systems will reduce the work of the employees since most of the work will be done by computers. The main thing that the employees are expected to do is to enter data into the computer. On the other hand, the disadvantage that the employees may experience is that it may be difficult for them to adapt to the new system. Therefore, these employees will have to be trained so that they can learn how to use computers effectively.

Also, the change is likely to impact the public. The members of the public are the primary recipient of health care services. Therefore, it is likely that they will receive quality health care services. The quality of health care services provided will be enhanced in the sense that records will be easily retrieved. Also, other important medical information may still be found on computers and used for treating various patients with different conditions (Bouton, 2017).

Moreover, outside agencies may benefit from new technology in specific ways. One such method is these agencies may benefit from the change of implementing new computer systems by learning about various health centres. After these centres have learned various information concerning various health centres, they may decide to offer a partnership with the hospitals so that the services could expand and that more people are treated for various conditions.

People say that time is money. The relevancy of such a quote is evident when viewed in the perspective of ensuring time is well managed. An example is in the influence of traffic jam on the economy and acquisition of revenue. The government struggled to ensure that the roads and highways are built to cater to the needs of the citizens. The impact of traffic jams have resulted in the loss of revenue since the time wasted on roads could have hugely benefited the public. The result is coming up with other design mechanisms for ensuring that there is limited time loss in the roads. Such a scenario also applies to the healthcare system and the use of technology.

Technology is the remedy of saving time as data is stored in a volatile and highly proficient manner. The reception needs an orderly method to facilitate the process in which customers, the public, are referred to various departments and specialists. The use of technology has proved to create a system which will act on the implementation of effective and efficient systems.

Management and Leadership Skills

Employing change is not an easy task; it may seem. The new manager, who has been selected to ensure that change is implemented in the health care system, should possess specific management as well as leadership skills. The fundamental skills that the new manager should have is team building. The new manager should be able to bring all the stakeholders together so that they can be able to handle various tasks together. Working as a team is one of the most effective ways that people can work because there is a collective effort that helps to ensure the tasks at hand are accomplished. Therefore, the new manager should be able to develop a team that would ensure all tasks are handled effectively to ensure that the new technology is successfully implemented into the health care sectors.

The second management and leadership skill that a manager should have is communication. Communication is essential in every managerial position since it enables information to be easily acquired as well as the feedback to be provided. In the event of a change, communication must be given the priority. Therefore, the new manager should be able to develop a proper communication structure within the organization that will help him to understand what is required while implementing the change.

The third management and leadership skill that the new manager should possess is the assimilation of flexibility and being dynamic. Life is such a variable that changes with time. Everything is looked at in the perspective of rate; meaning that there is the aspect of time. Some of these aspects include progress, velocity and even climate. The influence of the outside world needs people who can make decisions despite the situation.

Leaders having the above skill would have the required ability to run an enterprise. Also, technology is an important factor in being flexible and dynamic. Ten years ago, the systems used cannot cope up with the current advancements made in the system. The methodologies used have become obsolete due to the effect of technology. The rate at which technology changes forces individuals to assimilate the newer methods and those who best cope up with the rate have a better chance of surviving in th market.

Also, leadership and management play a key role in not only the health care system but also, other business enterprises. Since the main focus is in the health care system, leaders and managers should ensure strict and high quality of service delivery. Customer satisfaction should be the main focus of every entity, as the customers are the key assets.

In the business world, people and customers tend to approach progress by making sure a customer returns. This means that there should be an experience of another level. To ensure customer satisfaction, the manager has to instil strict regulations that hinder the employees from lagging in service delivery. It should also include quite tough consequences for the culprits who might go against the expectations of the hospital.

Many companies in the world have faced the consequences of poor leadership and are now regretting. It is easy to fall but rising to the acquired standard is an enormous mountain of the task that might turn out futile. Thee reputation is another essential factor to maintain (Rognlie, 2016). Having a good reputation can be attributed to how the manager runs the entity or the hospital.

Keeping People Motivated

Just to show how motivation is vital, approach any employee and ask them what will happen if the company they work for does not pay them for two to three months. Managers, together with the executives and board members should become up with a plan that will ensure the employees get the best motivation available.

The healthcare system is so critical that every employee is entitled to work in their best form. The vital nature of the work environment is such that it is preferable for an engineer to mess up with the mechanical equipment that a doctor with the human body. One cannot put a price tag on human life.

Another angle that depicts why medical practitioners have to have the highest level of motivation is found in their educational process. For one to have a title, Dr., there is an educational pathway that will really joggle your mind. There should be a reward for enduring the sacrifices and sufferings during the entire academic career.

Motivation has various importance, one of them being that it relieves the heaviness of stress, thus providing a better chance of delivering quality service (Lehrhaupt, Meibert, 2017). When one is paid well, the basic needs can be acquired with ease and thus one is least worried when at work. Maslow's hierarchy also shows that an individual is on the pathway of attaining self-satisfaction whenever there is motivation.

Also, it keeps the employees on their toes since one needs to deliver to measure up with the amount of motivation. The doctors, nurses and other staff will have to ensure that they prove to be relevant in the work environment since the managerial system has provided a competitive environment. No employee would want to lose a job in a highly motivated healthcare system.

Other than salary as the sole source of motivation, there should be other mechanisms provided to show that the way the government values the healthcare system. Such methods include coming up with bonuses and also offering subsidies to the families of the workers.

Steps to Follow

Almost all people have ideas and dreams. The question that follows is how one will implement the ideas? The issue of planning and process of accomplishing these ideas comes into play.
