In the United States Army, accountability and communication are crucial parts of one of the best elite forces. Straight from day one, accountability and the art of communication is integrated into the Army's training with comprehensive scheduling on the arrangement of activities. Once an individual joins the U.S army, he or she enters a family of heroes who need to know each other, get along with each other, and do all things together as one big family. To make unity achievable, all officers need to learn to communicate with each other. In the Army, communication can be classified as a virtue that must be determined by all members, be it from leaders to junior officers. Therefore, for the United States Army affairs of running efficiently, every single officer needs to practice an art of accountability and communication because they are two of the most important aspects to be considered in the Army. The essay primarily focuses on how the two disciplines are essential to the Army.
Importance of Communication in the USA Army
The discipline has multiple impacts on the soldiers, the subordinate, along with their leaders. As a leader in the Army, it is vital to possess interpersonal skills that help in communication with colleagues (Welch, 2016). Leadership in the U.S Army is critical in making decisions, conducting operations, and leading officers in missions (Meredith et al., 2018). For the tasks to be successful, leaders need to possess good to excellent communication skills (Radanavong, 2019). Passing on important messages to colleagues during an operation, for example, is crucial in making sure the missions are conducted.
During the training of soldiers, communication is the most fundamental aspect of the process that is often emphasized. From relaying information to rookie soldiers to passing orders in the hierarchy in leadership, all these activities require excellent communication skills to ensure the ultimate result of every action is successful. It explains why most officials with the Army are usually excellent communicators. Most of them write clearly and articulately in almost every situation and on practically every subject. That is why they need adequate planning in their speech, be it on training or in the press. Moreover, most senior officials are well aware, irrespective of the issue, when talking to the media, that they are solely responsible for the responses they give. The assertion makes it more essential for the individuals within the Army to maintain clarity in their communication.
Efficient communicators do not sacrifice clarity for precision, whether they are writing or talking. It is usually not helpful to regurgitate a problem every minute; the story has to be told in sufficient detail. There is a need for clarification to keep a consistent flow of information through everyone that can access it over a particular period (Radanavong, 2019). A new employee may make three paragraphs, and his colonel or supervisor general officer would then make one paragraph before going to the President. It is a struggle for every staff member to condense nuanced concepts into a bright and unmistakable expression (Meredith et al., 2018). It is the beauty of walking around in the chair. It takes time to learn what to say and what not to say, but the practice is perfect since the ultimate result of observing every reservation is candid and desirable. Proper communication that the Army is among the reasons that have maintained has kept its perceived competence at higher levels and ranks as compared to other world armies.
On the other hand, a lack of communication means that it would not be possible to make essential decisions on time. Besides, insufficient communication skills will lead to ignoring the chain of command hence losing the importance of bureaucracy in the barracks. Departments like Army reserves in the barracks require a tremendous amount of communication to operate appropriately. Conversation helps them in knowing important schedules to various battle assemblies regarding different formations and training events. Lack of communication within the Reserves may result in gross issues in the barracks such as missing essential assemblies along with significant training events hence keeping the competence of the army officers in questions.
The Importance of Accountability in the U.S Army
The U.S. Army upholds and enforces discipline accountability for multiple reasons, which are not limited to Inventories, Safety, and Work Procedures, alongside the ability to keep track of military personnel at every moment (Meredith et al., 2018). Consequently, the Army has obligations of following a strict, firm, and structural policy or laws. From the superficial roles that accountability plays in the Army, the aspect is the backbone holding everything together by preventing possible instances of chaos or commotion. Inventory related services also explain the significance of accountability as it creates a comprehensive safety and work procedures which can go handy.
Accountability is a crucial discipline in the U.S military. Primarily, when a problem arises, the person to blame will be evident. Multi-disciplinary aspects of obligation, responsibility, and transparency are sometimes brought into question when considering the importance of accountability (Welch, 2016). The mere usage of the term defines a program that accounts for all behavior, judgments, and practices (or: control, approval, assessment, and review). Accountability may also be extended to a new law and is enforced irrespective of obsolete laws and rules or other compliance problems (Meredith et al., 2018). All the actions aimed at avoiding the resulting repercussions narrow down to the aspect of accountability, which in turn makes one of the most critical disciplines in the military.
Accountability is essential since it bolsters the level of responsibility among the soldiers in handling various equipment along with undertaking multiple activities in multiple missions. Group managers must ensure that departments and teams realize where their soldiers and supplies are stored since anything may happen at any particular time hence calling for accountability among the members. The government invested a significant amount on the weapons and items of the troops, meaning that they had to learn where the weapons are. Furthermore, who controls them and at what time is an important question.
Similarly, accountability is significant because it ensures that someone meets their responsibility and needs. Unless you are responsible, you cannot expect someone to work or even appear on substantial events or organizations, to work for you or other members of the team. It, therefore, regards the whole virtue as an essential discipline as everyone is accountable for what they do. In this regard, accountability encompasses the obligation or opportunity to assume responsibility or to be liable for the operation.
For the Army, when you are assigned to a particular task, it becomes an obligation beyond 'motivation.' Transparency is reliable since it follows the timeline, performs at the correct position, and gets it well at the same time. Responsibility must be acquired to allow S1 (count) to refer to the superior. The description answers the question of, "What is the significance of the duty of the military and the workplace?" Responsibility is by nature: statute or policy (defense) or regulations that require you to delegate assets, records, or funds that are correctly registered by an authority or other person. The duty includes, in particular, records, security, treatment, and protection. Accountability is necessary because it allows one to know where your command line lies hence keeping clarity about matters duty lines and roles within the Army.
Responsibility is defined in the workplace as the consistent performance of the right things. Accountability is necessary because it ensures that someone's needs are satisfactorily met. One would be unable to trust anyone to do a job for them and others on the team without accountability or even attending a significant event or training on time. It is necessary as they are all accountable for their acts. The same principle applies in the United States Army as the discipline of accountability cannot be compromised regardless of the situation at hand.
Conclusion
In a nutshell, for the United States Army to work efficiently, any single officer must practice accountability and communication. That is because they are two of the most critical things to be regarded in the Army. As an army leader, it is essential to have interpersonal skills that help to communicate with colleagues. Leadership in the U.S. Army is vital to decision-making, activities, and mission-led soldiers. For missions to be successful, leaders need to have well to excellent communication skills. For example, the transmission of urgent messages to colleagues during the operation is crucial to ensuring that the missions are carried out. Accountability is critical as it allows you to recognize where the command line is. Responsibility in the workplace is defined as the consistent performance of the right things. Accountability is necessary because it ensures that someone has to be met. If you can expect others to do the same thing that they said, one would not be willing to expect someone to do a job with them without transparency or completing a significant function or training on schedule. It is necessary, as they are all accountable for their actions.
