Indeed, it could be rightly said that music is an essential part of life. Music is used alongside complementary elements in films and other visual presentations to bring out the intended effect on the audience. One of the songs that would characterize my life is 'I need you more' by Will Reagan and United Pursuit. This song is generally slow and somber, yet it contains a motivational reality. The lyrics generally state that we need God even more than we need our daily bread. Given that I am a religious person, I usually begin my day with meditation and prayer. I have found that doing so often motivates me and helps me begin my day with a sober mind. This song is the perfect representation of how my morning plays out. Will Reagan is a Christian gospel artist who is part of the band named United Pursuit. The band began producing music in 2008 and has produced two albums since. Their music has been classified in the indie rock genre.

Pharrell Williams' "Happy" is a song that contains a beat that is fast enough to motivate me in my morning workout. The song belongs to the soul genre and is a soundtrack for Despicable Me 2. Despicable Me 2 is the second installment of the Despicable Me movie franchise of which I am an avid fan. This is one of the reasons why I relate to the song. Moreover, the lyrics speak of seeking happiness which, I believe, is the one of life's main goals. This song is ideal for the jogging part of my workout. However, for my gym workout in which I engage in exercises aimed towards muscle toning, I prefer to listen to fast tempo rock music. "Empty Walls" by Serj Tankian is an alternative metal song that I have often played during weight lifting sessions. The intensity with which the artist belts out the lyrics brings out a feeling of passion inside me thereby generating the much needed gusto to push forward with my exercise. Serj Tankian, aside from being a solo artist is the lead singer of System of a Down, an alternative metal rock band. Songs by the band such as "Aerials" and "Toxicity" also make good work out soundtracks.

Whenever I am driving, I prefer to listen to reflective music. I often introspect towards general life matters and the essence of being as I drive. Such times would be best accompanied by soft rock music that carries a deep message. While I may not be keen to listen to lyrics, pithy statements may often catch my attention and guide a certain string of thoughts. My drive is often smooth and uneventful, which is one of the main advantages of living in a small town away from the hustle and bustle of the big cities. An example of a song which fits these criteria is "Let there be Light" which is a worship song by Hillsong United. Hillsong United is an Australian worship band formed as part of the worship team at Hillsong Church. I particularly selected this song because it represents enlightenment, which I consider to be an important human need.

My work generally involves long sitting hours which would be very boring were it not punctuated by occasional interruptions by clients who need my attention. If my life were a movie, this part would be accompanied by a somber hip hop soundtrack. Eminem's "When I'm Gone" would be the perfect song for that purpose. The song has a slow regular beat along which Eminem tells of his life's story in a resigned tone. Notably, he combines singing and rap thereby creating a unique melody. I also gravitate towards Eminem's music, especially those songs that were done in the early parts of his musical career. Eminem is considered by many hip hop critics to be one of the greatest hip hop artists of his time.

While my work mornings are generally lively, afternoons are extremely mundane. I often feel drowsy after taking lunch making most of me struggle with tasks that require a high concentration level. During such moments, mu life would be accompanied by one of the tunes by the late Teddy Pendergrass. "Close the Door," one of his mellow songs is an example of a song that would play during such periods. Pendergrass was a artist who produced albums as a solo artist and also as part of the band Harold Melvin & the Blue Notes which dominated musical charts in the early 1970s. "Close the Door" is, however, one of the single songs that he produced as soon as he began his solo career in the late 1970s.it was a single track that was so successful that various artists such as Mary J. Blige and 3LW have sampled the track and used it in their music. The same music would accompany most of my evenings whereby I am often exhausted and in dire need of rest.

There are, however, lively evenings in which I go out with friends and colleagues or attend office parties. The mood in such evenings can be depicted by songs such as the "Crazy Frog Song," which is a remix of Axel F. The song is also known as "Axel F" although the original "Axel F" song was produced in 1984 as the musical theme for "Beverly Hills Cop." The song is in the electronic pop genre and has a fast tempo which induces a dance. It would be the best soundtrack to depict the merry mood that I usually have during such times.
