AddictionCenter (2018) tries to establish the underlying reasons as to why teens abuse drugs, some of the signs of teen drug abuse, the most appropriate ways to get a teen to communicate about their drug use and the common drugs that are abused by teens. However, it doesn't highlight how they can prevent themselves from abusing the drugs.

WebMD (2018) provides the necessary information on alcohol, its effects on the body and why people drink it. It also provides some basic statistics on the number of teens that drink alcohol and why they should not drink alcohol. However, it doesn't give the effects associated with teens who abuse drugs or take alcohol.

Tackett (2018) explains how teens get exposed to drugs and alcohol and the reasons for their involvement with drugs and alcohol. She also looks into the social aspects contributors to the vice among teens. They include peer pressure, parental influence and social media. It also provides the resources for support and treatment of the problem among the affected teens. However, it doesn't explain how teens can prevent themselves from being initiated into the vice.

"Promises Treatment Centers" (2013) highlights the ten reasons as to why teens abuse alcohol or drugs. The fundamental and most discussed reasons include peer pressure, the feeling of being "grown-up," modeling the parents' behavior, curiosity, boredom, rebellion, self-medication, fun, and addiction.

"The National Institute on Drug Abuse" (2018), tries to establish the principles of adolescent substance use disorders and their treatment. It looks at the various factors that influence whether an adolescent uses drugs as well as their availability. It also analyses the associated health hazards that result from drug and alcohol abuse.

Palmera (2009) looks at the effects of drug abuse on teens, the signs of teen drug abuse, the impact of drug abuse on teens and the associated treatment plan. However, it doesn't describe the rehabilitation plans in place and other strategies put in place to control the vice.

The other residents in the community would determine assets. These are people or anything that can be used to improve the quality of life of a community.

There are various implications of power, privilege, and oppression. Community assets focus on the power to change the life of a community. Power helps the assets to harness the necessary resources required to improve the society. Privilege provides the community assets with an upper hand when it comes to the provision of some products or services that are of benefit to them, i.e. a person with some skills or talents. Oppression involves pressurizing the community members with the aim of providing them with resources that would be beneficial to them, i.e. a government or political body charging taxes to provide the community with the resources necessary.

Power can take various forms which influence the type of assets held within a community. Visible power involves the observable aspects of decision-making that usually take place in public. It also involves someone participating in the process and highlights who gains or losses from the decision. Hidden forms of power refer to how powerful actors and institutions maintain their powers and privileges (Cullen et al., 2014). This might include learning institutions, churches, libraries and hospitals among others. It might also be based on gender, ethnicity, age or expertise. Invisible power involves the social and political cultures that shape the psychological and ideological boundaries of a community or participants. It incorporates beliefs, a sense of self-acceptance and the status quo.
