I would try to imagine that nearly every writer has a clear understanding as to why they do write. Most of us admire the writings done by other people. The first question you ask yourself before writing is what is the primary goal of my writing? The ability to understand your purpose is very critical because it has the power to influence the type of content to write, tone, organization, and emphasis (Nordin 11). It also helps a writer have goals that are to be accomplished at the end of the writing. The purpose gives a sense of direction and command. Therefore, in the case below, we are going to examine one of the reasons as to why we write.

First, people write because of having a purpose and the need to connect. For every writer, the road to the publication dream is a long road home. From dejected hearts, unfinished manuscripts, and writers are left wondering, if they should turn around and go back home and call it a quit. The truth is, success in the writing industry is more of a marathon. A journey that doesn't end with the first step. You have to keep working over and over. Go back to the drawing board and put up a million-dollar plan. Angela Duckworth, the best-selling author of Grit, defines purpose in a very diverse way. According to Angela, purpose is 'the idea that what we do matters to people other than ourselves' (Angela 45). Writing is done to help us connect with people.

Writing is all about creating something real and unique. For instance, impossible and extraordinary. The poems, short stories, plays, we write are for the readers. We want to connect with them. Make them believe, give hope, and try to relate to existing phenomena. Ultimately, we create such fiction to entertain, provoke what-ifs, to elicit emotions, to inspire and challenge new perspectives. The main drive and purpose are to touch others. The idea of having a goal is to have resilience and persistent, which builds you whenever you experience setbacks.

The reason as to why we write is to connect with other people. It is the most fundamental reason which suits as to why we write. Moving on, how does this apply with writing? You might be having several questions as to how connecting has any relationship with writing. But the truth is. We have seen human beings needing to survive in life. Since the existence of man, having a connection is essential and vital for survival. And for them to be able to survive and meet their needs, connecting with others helps thrive. The writings we do, we post them online, publish, and share. It is the reason why we would reach out to our favorite authors and tell them how their books touched our lives? Come up with a review, share and encourage a number of our friends to read the same book. The need to connect arises - the positive feedback we receive from our writings prompt and push us to do more writing. The input is just as good as chocolate tastes. If not, the writings would remain in our computers never to be published or shared at all. Thus, growth is experienced in the frequent writings we do. The critics and feedback push us to want more (Nordin 17). Our network of readers will start to grow and get big. In the end, it links us to people we never imagine we would meet at some point in life. They are thus giving the basis as to why writing brings about connection.

Illustratively, the reason as to why I believe we write to connect is because we are wired to want to join. The desire to connect is naturally in our DNA. Human beings overtime have survived and thrived because of connecting. As a result, the drive to survive is enhanced by connecting with other people through writing (Maharani et al. 186). Human beings look up to connecting and networking. And the best means of linking up with each other is through the art of writing.

Besides, writing helps people in several ways. Since we have been able to articulate as to why we write, thinking at a more in-depth perspective, writing can give something to our readers. It provides something unique and straight from the writer. Through art, people have linked and networked in diverse ways. The connection that people gain through it allows individuals to grow in terms of character and perspective. Before writing, one needs to ask herself, what opinion or message is one trying to put across? Maybe you want to warn people about a particular viewpoint. Ultimately, the readers may not remember the metaphors and explicit language used, but at the end of the day, they will be able to recognize the lessons learned. Like I'll always remember The Fault in the stars because of how we touch people before we die, the message will be linked with your purpose (Maharani et al. 189). We have always heard about our friends quoting books and tagging them along on how they changed their lives or impacted them and gave them a new perspective and approach to life.

To sum up, as a writer, it is essential to be able to identify the purpose of their writings and how their writing is personally rewarding. It also has to address the well-being of others. Thus, the article above addresses writing as an entire entity. It also gives specific reasons as to why we write. The process and what benefits one gain from writing. Every writer has to account the right to why they write and focus on having a particular purpose to their goal as outlined above.
