Introduction

Quantitative research are either expressive meaning subjects are only measured once or they are experimental where subjects are measured before are and after their treatment. An expressive study authorizes the cooperation between variables whereas the experimental study authorizes casualty. This design is the standard method to do experiments in greater scientific developments. Traditional mathematics and statistical measurements are used to measure the experimental results decisively which are also known as true science. Physical, social and educational sciences commonly use quantitative research. Standard formats are used to conduct the experimental researches although there are little negligible interdisciplinary contrasts of developing approved or disapproved hypothesis. Mathematical and statistical methods are used to prove the hypothesis and the experimental basis that surround it. Its advantage is approving and disapproving hypothesis and finalizing results while its disadvantage is that the process is very expensive and time-consuming to get the final results.

What Is Quasi-Experimental Research?

Another name for quasi is resembling. Quasi-experimental research is referred to as research that is not true research but has similar qualities or resembles are true research. It mimics true research. According to Cook & Campbell, there is manipulation of independent variables but there is no random assigning of participants to orders of conditions or conditions themselves. This happens because of the manipulation of independent variables before the measurement of dependent variables, there is the elimination of problem direction through quasi elimination research. The quasi-experiments are thought to be in between correlational and true experiments. These experiments are mostly or usually conveyed in difficult areas of setting where unplanned are hard or have certain difficulties. The review and analyze the performance of applied treatment. There are several designs of quasi-experiments they are; (a) single group post-test only designs, (b) single group pretest/posttest design, (c) single-group time-series design, (d) nonequivalent control group posttest-only design, (e) nonequivalent control group pretest/posttest design and (f) multiple-group time-series design.

How Do Nonequivalent Groups Design Work?

When subjects are randomly authorized to conditions in participants the results of the group most like become the same, researchers call them commensurate. Again when the same subjects are not randomly authorized to condition the results are found not be similar in some fields. In nonequivalent group designs, conditions are not randomly assigned to participants making it a between-subjects design.

Nonequivalent Control Group Pretest/Posttest Design

In this design, the measurement of the dependent variable is done one before implementation and once again after implementation. The effectiveness of research is acquired because there is the measurement of a situation before the action is implemented and again after the implementation to see the changes that have been found or achieved.

Merits of the Design?

The advantage of these is design is because the research is able to find why and how the implementation was better or not better; the two groups can be compared.

Limitation of the Design?

The disadvantage of this design is that the researchers are not sure if the participants will drop out during the conduction of the study. This design can be used when the researchers want to see the effects of an applied treatment to a group.

Statistical Analysis of the Design?

Most researchers prefer this design. It reduces error variance through statistical methods. Statistically, it is done by accounting for the preexisting factors that make a subject to be the way it is and the outcome of the applied treatment.

What Is an Example of a Question for This Design?

An example of a question is, "why are the patients using a certain drug are showing very little improvements on their health?"

Nonequivalent Control Group Posttest-Only Design

Statistical Analysis of the Design?

The posttest-only design is a research design where measurement of a dependent variable is done after a treatment has been administered in one group as well as in a nonequivalent group that does not receive any treatment. It is the simplest of all the designs where it has only two lines to represent the two groups with an R at the start of the lines to show that they were picked randomly.

What Is the Advantage, and Disadvantage of the Design?

The advantage of this design is that it expresses adversity between mediation and results. The limitations are that the design can only be used in essential settings where random authorization to conditions cannot be applied in practical fields. The design can be used when researchers want to analyze and evaluate a new method of treatment.

What Is an Example of a Question for the Design?

The question of the research would be," what would be the results of some of the poor students staying in the same environment, while some got more tuition lessons?"

Single Group Post-test Only Design

What Is the Statistical Measurement of the Design?

This design is said to be simple and straight forward.it is administered to one group, and there is no comparison to another group, or maybe to two groups where there will be a comparison of the participants. The participants are tested after the intervention. This design is commonly used in the fields of Psychology, fields of education and when researching on human behavior where the subject that is being used as the whole control of the study without involving other groups or parties.

What Are the Advantages and Disadvantages of the Design?

The advantage of this design is that researchers can compare the groups perfectly but they are also not a hundred percent sure if all the participants will be available throughout the research.

What Is the Question Suitable for Research?

The study would answer the question of how a certain treatment affects individuals at the same time when administered to them.

Single Group Pretest/Post-test Only Designs

What Is the Statistical Measurement of the Research?

This design is commonly used by researchers to conduct human behavioral changes to rule out the mediation of treatment towards a specific sample. It uses two features where one single group where all the participants are summoned to one condition and the other whereas the other feature the groups are tested before and after they are summoned to one treatment and assessment. Treatments effects are seen through calculation of the differences between the first and last dependent variables.

What Are the Advantages and Disadvantages of the Design?

The advantage is that there is efficiency in determining the effects of the treatment while the disadvantage is that the participants might drop out during the research.

What Is the Suitable Question for the Research?

The question to be answered is how certain treatments affect a group of individuals differently and what changes can be seen before and after the treatment.

Multiple-Group Time-Series Design

What Is the Statist Measurement of the Design?

In this design periodic measurements are conducted from two test group units which are control and an experimental group. Treatment is administered to an experimental group, but both groups are subjected to periodic measurements.

What Are the Advantages and Disadvantages of the Design?

It helps in the creation of competitive advantage. The disadvantage of the design is that large scale interventions are not replicable due to lack of pseudo replication. These design is used to compare the changes of different groups to see the changes over a period of time through measurement of the development of both groups.

What Is the Suitable Question for the Research?

The question can be," is it true that the intervention lowered the number of alcoholism or what is due to another reason?"
