Introduction
The name of the organization is Walter Reed Psychological Center. It is a multidisciplinary behavioral health care practice that deals with people who suffer from mental health problems, substance abuse, and psychological problems. The organization is a for profit organization. The organization proposed location is San Diego California. The reason why San Diego is the ideal location for the organization is because more than 200,000 people in San Diego County have mental health related illnesses such as schizophrenia and major depression (Siantz et al., 2017). On the other hand government funded mental health organizations and systems struggle to deliver the appropriate care for mental health patients. It is not uncommon for mental health patients to struggle with drug and substance abuse, most addictions start when patients try to self-medicate when struggling with major depression and mental health conditions this is why Walter Reed Psychological Center also deals with people suffering from drugs addictions.
The Team
Because mental health patients are diverse and do come with preexisting conditions and illness the staff that will work in the organization will not only have to be qualified specialist but be very creative in order to deal with unique problems. The team will consist of a manager, who oversees the day to day running of the organizations. A clinical and counseling psychologist, his or her role will be to diagnose and treat people who suffer from emotional and mental disorders. A clinical social worker whose main work will be to diagnose patients with mental, behavioral, and emotional problems the clinical social worker then provides therapy. A psychiatric nurse who’s role will be to deal with psychiatric and mental health of patients. A psychiatric Nurse practitioner who’s role will be to provide assessment and therapeutic interventions to patients mostly those who suffer from mental disorders. The last staff member is a mental health counselor, this professional helps people to overcome emotional disorders, mental problems, and addictions.
The Mission
The mission of the organization is to promote mental health, prevent mental illness in the society, as well as improve care and treatment for people suffering from mental, drug and substance abuse as well as emotional and physiological problems.
The proposed clientele will be from the ages of fourteen to eighty. This is because most mental disorders do start by the mid-teens followed by the mid-20s (Hope et al., 2019). Later mental disorders such as those expressed in the ages between 50 and 70 are mostly caused by secondary conditions (Hope et al., 2019). The clientele will be mostly from both genders and the mode of payment will be private pay and health insurance. However, Medicaid is the most ideal as its mental health policies has expanded its access offering incentives for community based health provides.
Conclusion
Other than the normal hospital equipment’s such as blood pressure monitoring equipment there will be computers needed to store patient data and hospital records. One major tool that will be needed is the Global Mental Health Assessment Tool (GMHAT), this is a computerized mental health tool that help in identifying a wide array of mental health disorders. the mental health facility must be in at least an acre land, patient rooms must be at least 100 square feet that is 9.29 square meters exclusive of toilet rooms and toilets, no more than four bedrooms should be housed in a given room. Single bedrooms for in patients should be 80 square feet per bed. The following must be located near each nursing unit, the nurses’ station, nurse’s office, supplies storage, lavatory, toilets and staff lounge.
