Introduction
Walmart is an American company that operates on discount stores that were one of the largest operations in the world. This company is involved in both wholesale and retail business activities. Low price services and merchandise assortment are some of the offers from Walmart. Its business segments include Sam's Club international and Us Walmart. Due to the increase in their trends, they have been able to capture attention from suppliers and customers (Robert,2012). Situational influences are the conditions that temporarily affect the behavior of buyers whether they are buying products from your organization or not. They involve the time, social and physical factors that determine the consumer and buyer's mood during the buying and selling process. Businesses are however working so hard to make sure that these factors are controlled. The companies, however, have no control over natural disasters or snowstorms which are physical conditions. An emergency at Walmart caused a situational factor, overcrowding after a snowstorm. Buyers were not able not to purchase anything because the place was so occupied. According to research, we understand that consumers appreciate retailers who try to overcrowding in their stores. There is also a phenomenon called ''herd behavior'' that says this crowding sometimes brings a truly positive impact. When you see people lined up or crowded in a place, curiosity will take its place and the interest to know why comes in, and want to also get to the line and buy it. In the mid-2000s, this nerd behavior helped in a house price increase which did not last for long before they went down rapidly. During that day, this did not apply simply because people will not manage to move from one place to another (Li,2017). Back in 2008 a crowd rushing into a Walmart event during the holiday bargains, this led to the death of a store employee. People will also not keep calm because some are accompanied by children for shopping, all of them start to wonder how they will make it to their respective homes.
Confusion between the store employees and consumers will be created where they do not know how to help their buyers. From all the observations made during this day, the behavior of the consumer during the buying process is highly affected by any time emergency especially things that cannot be controlled such as a snowstorm. Retail business companies, Stores that sell clothes and restaurants must be affected during snow seasons. Since the physical factors like rain and snow cannot be controlled, companies are trying their best by making their products unattractive during bad weather conditions and attractive when the conditions are favorable (Mihic,2010). Consumers resorts that offer discounts allow their customers to travel during hurricane season to the beach areas. Creating an online website to shop online will manage the natural disasters that we have don't have the power to control. People will get all they need by making orders such as cars and restaurant products hence improving any changes that may occur in shopping areas.
