America is vast becoming a lawless society. Most of our cities are no longer what we envisioned them to be when this great nation was founded two centuries ago.The American dream has turned out to be the American nightmare. Hundreds of thousands of youths are vast becoming hopeless and abusing drugs by day.As a result, depression and stress disorders continue to drive youth to violent crimes in our cities. The rate at which the youth commits violent crime in Downtown Los Angeles is alarming.Almost every year,18000 people perish every year from violence related incidences in Los Angeles. Shootings, muggings, break-ins, car thefts and carjackings are the order of the day today in Downtown Los Angeles today. The alarming number of violent crimes perpetrated by the youth in Downtown Los Angeles has inspired me to try and encourage the youths engaging in crime out there something better they can do with their lives.
The goals of this museum exhibit are to reveal the frustration the youth go through in Downtown Los Angeles before eventually resorting to crime.Evey week in downtown Los Angeles, an average of 21 violent crimes are committed.Over 79 property crimes also take place. The youth perpetrates almost all these incidences.Jobless an frustrated and unable to sustain themselves, they have resorted to joining organized gangs as they perceive this as the only sure way to survive.Through my exhibition, I hope to pass a message of hope to the frustrated youth of Downtown Los Angeles.I also want to decrease the number of violent crimes done each day by the youth Downtown Los Angeles.
Crime is always a product of psychological issues. Such as depression, Despite current research showing the relationship between mental issues and incidences of crime, little has been down to show how exposure of crime to adolescence and children affects them in Downtown Los Angeles. Most of the high school and campus bullies graduate to a violent criminal; More should be done to prevent children and adolescents form slowly metamorphosing into criminals.Research has also shown that drug addiction is one of the main factors fueling violent crime in Downtown Los Angeles. How narcotics such as cocaine manage to get into the hands of high school and college students despite the tough border patrols and hunt for drug lords is a question that is yet to be answered. One place that has long been suspected to be a porous region through which h drugs are smuggled into the country for example, is our border with Mexico. These drugs are wreaking havoc in Downtown Los Angeles, and something has to be done about it.
The target audience of this exhibition would be the youth. Downtown Los Angeles gangs are entirely made up of the youth. These are young people suffering the consequences of broken dreams, depression, and poverty. There is a clear correlation between poor economic conditions and a spike in incidences of crime.Poverty leads to frustration which is the chief ingredient of the violent gangs terrorizing Downtown Los Angeles. The youth are the pillars of tomorrow and wth the current rate at which most of them are engaging in crime in Downtown Los Angeles, it means that the future of America is at risk.
