Introduction

In the recent past, the field of aviation in the US and elsewhere has been affected by major military and civil events. For instance, during the gulf war, the US and other coalition air forces developed measures to destroy theater and military targets particularly the Iraq grounds (Kellner, 2004). In response, they were astounded by the 9/11 attacks; the terrorist militants who are believed to be associated with al Qaeda. Four US airplanes were used by the al Qaeda to carry suicide attacks against the US. Two of them were flown into the twin towers of the World Trade Center in New York City and the other to the Pentagon outside Washington DC. More than 3,000 people died in this operation, and this triggered the United States to develop edges to combat such attacks (Kellner, 2004). Americans contemplate how to protect their country in this new era because terrorism has become a top national security priority.

Kellner (2004) asserted that the Gulf war and 9/11 attacks had serious economic, military, and societal impact, which the Americans are even experiencing today. To begin with, the most significant impact of the terrorist attacks in the debt crisis. The government has increased government spending although currently there is no war of terror. At the same time, the war of terror has reduced stimulus programs, which can be used to boost the country during the financial crisis. There are few jobs, which means less tax revenue will be collected hence less funding for infrastructure, replacement, and repair. Moreover, the gulf war and the 9/11 attacks represent an outlier given that many people lost their lives. Today, the national debate of war of terror continues and this makes the government augment spending on the military. The goals for measuring success seems unlimited in that Americans have been informed to expect the worst. The government has increased military and defense spending to promise the citizens that a catastrophe like 9/11 will not occur again. Also, the impact of the terror was much uglier to society. 9/11 attack unlocked a set of agendas, which leave a mark for tax cuts and military spending (Kellner, 2004). Today, American citizens are entitled to expect the government to do the best; they expect the government to have clear guidelines and realistic objectives to prevent suicidal attacks from reaching a target.

Since the United States and the international community are investing in the military and the field of aviation to give a reasonable opportunity to combat crime and terrorism, the future of aviation travel and the advancements in technological innovations is likely to be much better. Essentially, the US government is building a truly national army that will extend vital infrastructure to major towns and regions. At the same time, the US government is oriented towards security and military work and this is likely to help it contain any rampant crime shortly. Flying will be amazing due to the rapid pace of innovation, airplane markers and airlines. Innovation in the aviation industry will enable the development of electric planes, which might deliver eco-friendly as well as quiet air travel. Technologies will shape the future in that the military will acquire in-flight services and therefore, enforce sustainable air travel that will match with the near future.
