State your proposal/idea. The Obama's 2014 executive action should be supported as it will widen protection from extradition to approximately 5 million unauthorized immigrants.

BACKGROUND: DO YOUR RESEARCH

Include studies, reports, personal experience, or anecdotal stories related to your proposal.I have a friend who is an immigrant, and he faces a myriad of challenges ranging from employment, deportation to healthcare. It is tough getting a job or even a driver's license when you are an unauthorized immigrant. The execution of this bill will allow immigrants lead a more dignified life, which would also indirectly contribute, to the reduction of crime and drug abuse in the country. Both the federal government and the state influence the immigration policy. The federal government is responsible for issuing green cards, visas and citizenship, and monitors the border while the states are in charge of handling immigrants after they settle regarding employment, licensing and education ("Obama's huge new immigration plan, explained", 2018).

Has there been similar legislation introduced and/or passed in other states? If so, include it. The legislation was initially introduced back in 2014 but it was received with mixed reactions. Twenty-six different states filed lawsuits challenging the progression of the proposed bill into law including Texas.

ASSESSMENT: FINANCES AND STAKEHOLDERS

Identify financial impact if any (e.g., added costs, cost savings, increased revenue): The proposed bill will be an added cost to the Federal government, but so many are likely to benefit. Immigrants will be able to secure jobs more easily and contribute to reducing homelessness.

Identify stakeholder groups that would support this bill: The federal government would support this bill because this means more people would be able to get employment and would result in the collection of more tax revenue and it would also lower the demand for social services. Human Rights Groups would also support the bill ("Washington AG leads states' support of Obama immigration reform before US Supreme Court | Washington State", 2018).

Identify people/groups that would oppose this bill: the groups that would oppose this include the current taxpayers. The execution of the bill definitely comes with an added cost it is likely to be obtained from the taxpayers' money.
