Parental style refers to the length in which parents control, accept and sensitize the behaviors of their children including emotional, psychological development and even their maturity. Some of the examples of parenting style practices include warm and responsiveness, clear rules, high expectations on the children, supportive and also appreciating value of independence from the children. Parenting goes hand in hand with developmental psychology. In this paper, authors try to explore the relationship that exists between these parenting styles and the adolescents and how these parental styles influence the behaviors of the adolescents.

The result of the study showed that there is no concrete relationship between the aggressive character of the adolescents and the parenting styles. However, there is a close relationship between the interactions between the parents and the adolescents considering the level of identity of style which is used on them. Some types of parenting styles according to authors of the study include authoritative parents, permissive parents, uninvolved parent an authoritarian parent

The authors present the researches that have been explored before on participants chosen from diverse general population concerning the relationship of parents and their adolescent children. The authors present their case on rejection sensitivity character when parents face rough times with their children when children reach at the age ranging from 9 years to 14 years during their early adolescence. At this age, these children start developing traits which start keeping them away from their peers, parents and other people. Their anxiety and curiosity also increase at this time.

Children in the adolescent age become more temper sensitive and difficult to handle and therefore calls for deployment of authoritative parenting. This results to pile up of huge expectations from the children and reduced responsibility with assumptions of the kids growing more independent and in such that they are expected to learn to stand up for themselves. According to Carlo eta l. (2017), parents always led an example to their children; this is because adolescents can be affected either directly or indirectly from their parents since they can sometimes use the parent's actions to make choices. The study encourages parents to give instructions to the adolescent by persuasion. This can always motivate the adolescents despite the sensitive rejections they have to instructions and advice. Even though parents do not directly control the choices of their adolescents, they can always narrate the self-disclosures to their adolescents which can sometimes help them to make choices.

The authors also explored the character of empathy which parents have towards their children. With this, the parents provide stubborn resistance supervision which provides discipline either with positive or negative consequences. However, this choice is difficult for the adolescents to listen, but it might put a small influence on them which will add up to something essential to their behaviors.

This study exhibits some limitations reflected in considering the neglectful parents who were associated with proximal risk factors which led to the worst outcomes. This resulted in the adolescents who lacked where to learn the true virtues. The other limitation found in the study is that the researchers did not focus on social behaviors of the surrounding environment which involved both parental practices and the behaviors of the adolescents leading to the implication of psychological development of the kids.

Conclusion

In conclusion, research suggests that children should be raised by authoritative parents other than those with parenting styles. This because children raised by authoritative parents seem to adjust to the society easily since they have high levels of maturity, self-control together with high self-esteem.
