Firstly, as explained above, a stressor is a difficulty that makes family life to be painful and unbearable. It cannot be denied that the culture of divorce is one of the most challenging situations for families especially to the children of the affected families. Divorce is a stressful and an event that lives people unsettled. In this case, an existing relationship is ending, and every normal family procedures come to a halt. This is coupled with volatile emotions that erupt as a result of divorce and the situation turns ugly and difficult (Kunz, 2011). It should be admitted that divorce leads to numerous sorts of uncomfortable, unsettling as well as feelings that are quite frightening. It also triggers the thoughts and feelings that are uncalled for. Other aspects of divorce include depression, despair, frustration, anxiety among others. There is possibly sadness and grief when the affected think about the end of a significant relationship.

From Kunz words that family is the most important and most influential institution in the world, it is admittedly true that terrorism and war have worked against these words to various separate families across the globe (Kunz, 2011). It has been evident across multiple nations that terrorism and war have been a significant stressor because, with increased wars across the world, families fly away because of the ambush thereby leading to the separation of families. As Kunz explains it, wars and terrorism work by reducing the strength of the relationship and connection between direct war exposures as well as other types of psychological distress.

In addition to the above, another family stressor that Kunz illustrates in the book Think Marriage is the problem of the use of day care. This alludes to the increasing work demands and increased technological advances (Kunz, 2011). Most families today keep their children in daycare facilities from where they are taken care of, and parents pick them later in the evening. This has been a significant stressor to most families because parents have to keep pace with work demands thereby opting to take their children to such facilities. It should then be understood that by taking them to these facilities, children lose contact with their parents and might develop the stress as mentioned earlier. This is because the parents lack time to spend with their children and this can lead to children developing bad behaviors.
