Introduction
All protocol observed, good afternoon. Am privileged to give a speech about climate change mainly the primary cause. Humans become the leading cause of climate change on the earth. Therefore, how do we prove that human beings become the primary triggers of global warming? The surface of the earth keeps undergoing unprecedented warming in the current century. Ideally, all of us knows that cooling and warming had occurred in long and past before humans came into existence. Many factors termed as the climate drivers, for instance, the changes in the intensity of the sun, the volcanic eruptions and the gases which trap heat in the atmosphere can influence climate change. The big question today is whether the humans are the primary causes of unprecedented warming.
The scientists have come up with different methods which address the question. The oceanographers and the meteorologists keep comparing the climate pattern which they analyze with the patterns develop from the sophisticated models of the ocean and the atmosphere. Through matching the modeled and the observed patterns, the scientists have therefore positively identified the human factors which get associated with climate changes. The proportion of those variations also get attributed to human activities. The scientists entirely agree that today's global warming is mainly as a result of human putting much carbon in the earth's atmosphere for instance when humans choose to extract and burn oil, coal, and gas or even cutting down and burning of forest. The scientists have managed to gather some sustainable prove and have also improved the methods which enhance teasing apart from the humans and the natural factors. Currently, the scientists possess high confidence regarding human as the significant cause of the issue. They have reported on the developing confidence by using the successive climate assessments of IPCC (intergovernmental panel on climate change) (Henderson-Sellers, A, and K McGuffie, 4).
The Direct Proof of Human Contribution to CO2 in the Atmosphere
Carbon dioxide becomes the primary heat-trapping gas mainly responsible for many of average warming for the past years. Carbon dioxide concentration in the atmosphere has drastically increased from pre-industrial era to date. The scientists keep warning about the dangerous threshold. We all know that human activities keep driving the rise in the concentration of carbon dioxide since the gas has precise information concerning the sources. The amount of co2 which comes from the natural sources and those from the combusted fossils fuel can become tease apart by the scientists. The carbon from fossils fuels contains distinctly different atoms when compared to other carbon sources. (technically d13C).
The climate has been affected profoundly by human and natural factors caused by humans. The emissions from the power and the car plants lead to an increase in the amount of the radiation emitted by the sun. Thus these are the forcings that drive to the rise in temperature, by first trapping the heat, and secondly is by an increase in the energy levels that lead to an increase in the heat emission into the environment. The human-made types of pollution and the volcanic eruptions cause the injection of the sunlight aerosols known as the tiny particles. The small particles in the atmosphere lower the temperature levels thus making it be one of the forcings that lead to decrement in the temperature. Also, the tiny particles in the atmosphere bring about the changes in the patterns of the weather thus degrading the climate on a day to day basis. (Philander, S G, 6). Notably, the researchers have noticed that a third of the impacts that relate to the ocean and the atmospheric temperature is conclusively attributing to a forcing known as anthropogenic. These human-caused drivers in the environment lead to a significant loss in the change of the patterns of rainfall thus creating a hazardous situation.
The key drivers of the natural climate include energy generated from the sun on a daily basis. The volcanic eruptions, salt spray, and dust are also the primary drivers of the natural environment from the human perspective. The cycle of physical carbon processes, for instance, the termite mounds located in Africa emits much methane. Also, the tiny organisms found on the surface of the ocean that usually takes up the carbon dioxide in the environment is the other primary driver of the natural climate. Lastly, is the variation in ice and snow coverage that usually changes the quantity on the Earth's surface and thus reflects on sun's energy to space. This process of reflection of the sun onto the earth surface is always considered to be an albedo.
The effect of a volcanic eruption that is large in nature usually has a pointed cooling impact since it emits the tiny particles into the layer of the earth which is above the troposphere. The stratosphere is the central layer of the atmosphere that weather usually takes place. Massive explosions found in Indonesia and Philippines are the two most significant downward spikes presented in the volcanic data. The particles prevent full energy from reaching the earth's surface thus leading to a creation of cooling trend counted in several years. The drivers of the climate include; the heat traps of emission from the burning coal, the oil in the power plants and cars. Also, the cutting down of the trees and burning down of the forests are the key drivers of the climate change. The tiny particles of pollution known as the aerosols and the carbon pollution that is black in nature commonly referred as the soot are also the drivers of the climate change having an impact on the patterns of the weather. Lastly, is the change in the trends of the land use that has also got much influence on the Earth's albedo. The changes on the land use by the human beings on the farming practices applied on the day to day basis have to lead to experiencing climate changes.
The burning of the fossil fuel by human beings lead to the emission of tiny particles and also release of the carbon dioxide into the atmosphere. The cooling effect is caused by the reflection of particles by sunlight into the space and the eruption of the volcanic particles. The black carbon absorbs the sunlight leading to an increase in the temperature levels. It thus leads to global warming of the environment due to the level of atmosphere in the soot particles in circulation. Both aerosols and soot lead to the decrement of the energy of the sun reaching the surface. Furthermore, it is factual in that in the last 60years there could have been more warming if it were not for the natural and human-made particles that are tiny in the atmosphere. (Spencer, Roy W, 7).
The climate drivers have resulted in the warming while others have to lead into cooling. The stacking up of the human and natural climate drivers effect to global warming, which is the accumulation of the human-released gases into the atmosphere. The scientists of climate develop programs that can stimulate the changes in the global environments with differentiated conditions. The knowledge of biological, chemical and physical processes that takes place in the earth's atmosphere and the seas and oceans is thus used in computer programs of the climate by the scientists. The scientists are also allowed to use mathematical models to improve the behavior of the systems which are considered being complicated, but according to the exploration of the system's responses onto the human and natural factors, the application of the models is encouraged.
The scientist operating on the IPCC assessment finally have documented the observed variation in the air temperature, ice retreat, ocean temperature and the rice of sea level. When comparing the observed change, the scientist facilitates the process by using the computer models. They have concluded that the effects of greenhouse gases including those of anthropogenic drivers have become detected in the climate system and probably becomes the main triggers of the analyzed warming since the past decades. The scientist has arrived at the above conclusion after comparing the changes observed to a variety of drivers. For many years, the attribution model of science gets becoming sophisticated. Despite attribution of human as the primary cause of global warming, the scientists have also managed to determine other contributors including floods, storms, and waves.
The Solutions Which Are Within Our Reach
Understanding that the activities of man are the primary cause of global warming assist us to know how and the reason for climate change and entirely address the problem being one which is within our authority. Ideally, it is not possible to avoid the warming level triggered by the emissions which are already in the atmosphere for instance nitrous oxide and carbon dioxide, but with the use of proactive measures, the current emissions become lowered. The issue calls for a concern from every individual to get rid of the dangerous warming to allow sustainable world for the future generation.
