Introduction

Being young is the most fulfilling yet a very short period in life that passes us by without realizing the privileges bestowed by being young. Rogers Rex writes a poem by recollecting the best moments of youth and childhood which creates a picture of what it is to be young again. Everyone wants to be young again because it is an age of ignorance and play. Being young one is allowed to make mistakes and to play without any worry of tomorrow because playing is all that matters for those that are young and filled with energy and high spirits. Being young allows one to lead a carefree life where one can enjoy nature more intimately by walking barefoot in the woods, the hollows, and glens as noted by Rex Rogers. Most people long to be young again to play and experience nature with the old man in the family. Life is more fulfilling when we are young when one had a chance to walk through a hardwood forest value milk money and steel pennies from the bin while playing baseball and marbles. At a young age, life is simple and some steel pennies appear to be a lot of money because the most important thing when we are young is the ability to play and children get the chance to play at no cost in the most beautiful surroundings such as the old farm and the hardwood forests.
