For the last three years, Juja has hit the headlines of being one of the safest towns in the country to live in. This sign has been traced back to the presence of two sergeant police officers at Juja police station. Dan and Davis are well equipped with the karate skills which are the irreducible minimum requirements for one to hold the rank of a sergeant officer. Early this month, the two faithful officers prevented one of the rare theft cases in the town, a cumulative of consistent smart and hard work earned them a promotion. '...you have been gracefully promoted to become the police inspectors of this station, congratulations,' officer commanding the station ended the speech.
Drake is a fabulously wealthy person who resides outside the country. He is a long-trem drug peddler and has been linked to most of the drug smuggling into the country. The drug baron, however, faced a reformed combat when his servants were arrested soon after landing in Juja airport, the country was different, the two drug runners were to be arraigned in court to face the charges, a process which was delayed following the inevitable plans of Drake to visit the country, his attendance was compelled. Drake's financial intimidations were in vain since cannabis and cocaine exhibit had been kept at the station, but a bizarre occurrence happened, Dan and Davis were seriously quarreling at the station due to a sudden bailout of the suspects by Dan without the consent of his partner. Dan had stealthily accepted the bribe from the dope head and freed the captives, but even this could not let Davis terminate their friendship, a friend indeed so he was.
'Am sorry I have a lot of work to do tonight, I won't join you, at least not today,' Davis turned down Dan's invitation to accompany him to the Elites club that night. Joyce consciously left her sister in the house due to persistent luring by her friends to rave the club that night. Now Elites club was the limelight of the town, being the hottest nightclub in Juja, its strategic position favored its growth. Joyce and Dan merged and formed the best pair for that night, and the two drunkards proceeded to sergeant's house of residence a few minutes after midnight. Joyce was too drunk that she fell at Dan's toilet tiles and kissed her last breath. A pool of blood characterized her vicinity, this extraordinary tragic moment sobered Dan, and a series of quick thoughts clogged his mind. It seemed as if his evil conscience outweighed the right which made him resort to the most unexpected non-solution resolution. He arguably made a decision to bury the corpse in the compound behind his house, Shhnnk! Crrck! Fffffp! Shhhhh! Ahhhh! And the shovel finished the job.
Now it has been two days, and Jane is still missing her sister, a restless family is prompted to report the missing member. Dan gratuitously refuses to take up the case together with Davis and the latter works single-handedly. The unusual discreet behavior of Dan is noticed, but no one can yet connect him to the bummer. The constant consolation of the family gets at the peak when the success of the investigation discovers Joyce's body in Dan's compound, thanks to the intervention of a wild dog. The corpse was exhumed, and the disinterred taken for a postmortem. Dan was nowhere to be seen in Juja. The fugitive had fled to Salga 400km from the town of tension. He has undoubtedly been convicted of a crime of murder of a 20-year-old slay queen. Two days after a successful hideout, Dan manages to secure and rent a room at one of the remote restaurants in Salga. This didn't give him a long-lasting peaceful mind when the breaking news revealed him as the most wanted in the country. He strangled a prostitute to death in his cubicle to conceal the truth but it was too late, the receptionist at the desk misses no television news in the morning, however, the criminal was able to escape unseen.
The two former friends are living completely different lives, a law enforcer and a lawbreaker, they are no longer in the same field of action. Quick reforms have taken place at Juja police station with a new inspector Julie holding the position of the former in service. The new combination has a determination to accomplish the mission which is solely dependent on them. On the other hand, Dan is a wild animal. He comes out by the moon and returns by the sunrise his head has become a partner to his hat, the hat is the only friend he has in the lonely tormenting residence. The fact that Salga was a land of forest made him invisible and invincible. He could not travel anywhere in the presence of the public also bearing in mind that inspector Davis wasn't a man of despondency, he gets what he wants.
In Juja, inspector Davis was as familiar as a family member to Jane during the period of much condolences received from friends and relatives. She indeed appreciated the efforts shown by the experienced inspector. 'Don't worry, the law will take its course of action, and you'll get justice' was the repetitive comfort from the two inspectors. Out of the current service, Jane conceived thoughts about getting married though amidst of sorrow and anxiety. She liked Davis but could not dare mimic it in the prevailing situation. Dan's days were just being numbered up to the moment when the interconnection of Juja and Salga police service apprehended and put the murderer behind bars in Salga police station. It was a relieving moment for Jane's family even though they could not bring their daughter back. These endless efforts of Julie and Davis impressed Jane even more. The 24-year-old lady purposefully resorted to marrying the inspector and it was a point of less discussion signified by great approval from the in-laws. A new chapter of a happy life for Jane somehow tried to rub off the indelible mark of experience of losing her sister in a strange manner, but at least she was composed and satisfied of the killer rotting in jail. Her husband was fully involved in ensuring justice, and Dan was sentenced to life imprisonment.
Dan found new unfriendly friends, the inmates who somehow feared him because of his temper had no audacity to ask him anything. He was like the president of the prisoners, and even the officers could not dispute that, in addition to that, he was a non-competitor a no-go zone due to his expertise in karate and besides he was a former sergeant police officer. He almost killed a colleague one day for questioning him about his family were it not for the rescue of the prison officers on duty. He was an extremely difficult man to mingle with and talk to. His secret thoughts earned him extra respect among his inmates, and nobody could predict what he would do next.
Exactly six years after the court orders to imprison the culprit took place, a broken news emerged. 'A fugitive known as the president of prisoners in Salga police station has escaped and...' was the news of the day, and nobody could believe the makeup of the event that transpired. Inspector Davis was stressed and his wife depressed with regard to the situation. Then suddenly one day, inspector Davis had an on and off headache and thought it better to drive home by himself even though inspector Julie volunteered to do so. When he arrived home, he encountered evidence of violence at the venue and cautiously corked his gun. Amidst broken electronics and a broken glass table, all he found was a piece of paper.
"Am very sorry my husband, I know you loved me and our daughter Joan very much, but I had to take this action for the respect I have for you, I didn't want to tarnish your name, the name of your family and your service. Have decided to kill our daughter and commit suicide because I could not be worth being your wife anymore. Dan broke into our house and RAPED ME, let's meet in heaven." The only content of the paper that touched him was written in capital letters. There on the floor was the reality of a dead wife and a daughter all at once. He proceeded to the dining table and picked the poison his wife used. Now he was feeling much pain than Jane's family had thought of, Dan was inhuman.
The undisputed criminal found his way to Sondu, a much far place from Juja where he practiced and played kickboxing making good use of his skills. The game was sponsored and organized by some bigwigs who came together to misuse the strengths of youths in the town. As expected, not even a single man conquered him in the game, he was the master of kickboxing. In Sondu he was called Derrick purposefully confusing his name so that no one could recognize him as Dan, the renegade. Derrick earned a living by breaking the bones of fellow kickboxers. 'King Derrick break him' was the slogan whenever he entered the ring to break one more bone. He gained fame in the field that even the sponsors left most of the decisions at his disposal. He would organize and fight only during weekends but still earned tenfold more than those who fought every day. He lived a porch life for a number of months in the growing town of Sondu before his destiny finally arrived.
Two years after Dan settled, The Directorate of Criminal Investigation (DCI) unit spearheaded by Davis now a more experienced inspector discovered illegal businesses and fighting organizations including the famous Giga fights and kickboxing grounds located in Sondu town. The team wanted to gather enough evidence by organizing an ambush to the grounds. None of the team members knew about the presence of the 'King' of kickboxers, not even the team leader. Inspector Julie was not part of the team though, soon after she got married to inspector Davis, she was transferred to Salga police station mainly to investigate the escape of Dan from the prison. Dan was the man of the town in a concealed identity, anonymous cum incognito origin but even those who had little recognition of him dared not saying anything. The anticipated sudden visit of the DCI was a long heard and revised information for Dan, he had eyes and ears to watch and gather information for him. One in three of the growing businesses was his. Some people alleged that he threatened to kill one of the sponsors who refused to heed to his request for a more added pay for his fights. Those men who seemed stronger and with victorious physique lost the matches against Dan for fear of being murdered if in any way they tried to challenge the king.
Conclusion
The day that the DCI ambushed Sondu Giga fights and kickboxing grounds, Dan had already fled to unknown place a night before. The grounds were banned, and most of the kickboxers questioned and warned but nobody knew exactly the whereabouts of Dan the kickboxer. Some asserted that he took a flight out of the country. The propagator of evil may be in your country.
