Introduction
Engaging in any sports activity at an early age is important to overall growth during every child's development. According to psychological, physical and cognitive of child development, a child should be at least have attained 6 years before he or she begins to participate in any organized sport. (Merkel, 2018). People glorify sports and the people who are involved. However, the same sports can have positive or negative impacts on young teenagers. There are questions that need to addressed regarding impacts of sports on a professional basis among teenagers. What influence does the professional sport have towards the teenager ?is age requirement a factor to consider in professional sports?
Young talented professional athlete gains a huge amount of notoriety as media portrays them as superhuman. The officials in charge of athletics feel that age requirement can help avert problems that are teenage related. However, there are a lot of professional athletes who portrays positive influence in the community-based project and there are young professional sports people who may involve themselves in this positive activities.
Young people love to copy from their mentors. and role models have an astounding impact on young people's lives. There are athletes who pose bad influence to the teenagers. Example, Brady a basketball player who was accused of deflating out the football air at the beginning of each game. The other example is on athletes who use drugs that enhance their performance. There is a high case of young professional athletes who use similar drugs too. However, teenage athletes do not always copy negative behaviors, they also adopt positive influence from the older athletes.
The health of young players is at risk, (Live Science, 2018).Serious injuries are common amongst young athletes, Young peoples brain are susceptible to a catastrophic brain swelling of second impact syndrome.Professional teenagers in athletics are also highly associated with risky behavior such as drug abuse, violence, and increased drinking. However, professional sports can help teenagers form an identity and resist mental illnesses effect through sports. This is evident in cases where youths feel disempowered, alienated, excluded and rejected this may provide a solution through engaging with sports activities that provide them with benefits and identity.
Teenagers are known to be spendthrift, However, (Murray, 2018). Suggest that most young professional athletes lack the ability to manage their finances well. This is due to poor spending habit. However, Not all young professional athletes are spendthrift a lot of them are making money and thus boosting their livelihood and local economy.
Conclusion
In my conclusion, I support teenage leaving their school or home so as to join professional teams. This is because regardless of some few negative impacts of the professional sport among teenagers it has a unique and amazing way of making an impact that is positive to the society. Professional sports is rewarding and the salary of professional athletes is estimated to be 78 times of national average salary Professional old athletes have the capability to influence young professional teenager how, to be honest, fair and good people. Professional Sports affects teenage development and physical activities in social, health and economic progress.Age should therefore not be a determining factor in participating in a professional sport.Teenagers should require consent from their parents and should not be forced to participate in professional sports but in case the child is interested and talented enough he or she should be motivated and be given a chance to engage in sporting activity.Parents have a key role to play in helping children make appropriate decisions in sports involvement. They should encourage the involvement of their kids in a sport of their choice.
