The Sacred Heart House of Denver in Denver, CO is a much-publicized shelter in the city. Apart from word of mouth from friends and relatives who have had experiences in the shelter. The Sacred Heart House of Denver is also one of the most recommended places for violated women who are either victims of sexual abuse, domestic violence or other forms of injustices in the society. Women can inquire from the local offices, the internet or through social media. the contact information is also located on the website and other public directories.
Self-reporting women can use public transport while the sever affected women especially the non-ambulatory. These women are either transferred from hospitals or their residences where they have been abused. Almost every private and government hospital has a transport system which (ambulance) which means that battered women can be taken to the shelter to recuperate after treatment from the hospital (Green, Hogg & Tanis, 1978). Women are likely to be depressed because of high community expectations. In the patriarchal system, women are either oppressed or economically disadvantaged. Women are likely to be depressed whether they are in abusive lightship or not especially those who feel that they cannot achieve their goals (Flores-Ramos & Mendez Ramirez, 2011). Women are likely to be considered abused when evaluated against a valid and relate scale for measuring interpersonal violence. For example, if a validated scale such as the Composite Abuse Scale (Revised) Short Form (CASR-SF) shows that scale reliability, validity and the robustness of subscales assessing different Intimate partner violence (IPV) experiences shows that women are likely to be battered by their partners but the fact that they rarely report the IPV makes the scoring of their scale flawed (Ford-Gilboe et al., 2016). Women are less likely to interact with the police unless they have safety and security concerns (Torjesen, 2014). Most of the women who interact with the police after IPV reported positive interactions that lead to the incarceration of their abusers (Frieden, 2005). The main problem is that women are not likely to report domestic abuse because they fear to break their marriages. Women are also likely to stay ins violent marriage to protect their children
A study can only be generalizable, and transferable if the probability sampling is used. Probability sampling help in improving the representativeness of the population. Large sample size also increases the representativeness of the population. Therefore, a sample size of 30 or more is advisable (Green, Hogg & Tanis, 1978). A large enough random sample can be used to tommyrot the sampling error. Statistical power analysis can be used to determine the sample size if the population is much larger. The best sampling strategy for the study is the multistage sampling which will consider various qualities of the sample and eliminate those who do not meet the inclusion criteria in stages. The study will be generalized but only to shelters with similar conditions as the one in which the study was conducted. The most important ethical issue in this study is the protection of privacy of the respondents since the abused women are vulnerable and are likely to be targeted by the abusive partners if their identity is exposed. The address this, the respondents will participate anonymously.
