Sexual development has various aspects that relate to physical and social factors. The society has different ways in which they perceive man and women and how they associate with sexuality. Various communities also have mixed activities towards individuals who they recognize as sexual subjects. This essay intends to describe the effects of gendered beliefs about sexuality on both women and men. The paper also discusses the pros and cons of the perception of individuals as sexual objects.

Harmful Effects of Gendered Beliefs about Sexuality on Men and Women

Beliefs about sexuality in various regions of the world have varying effects on men and women. Communities such as the Asian people believe that women have no right to have sexual desire (Heinemann, Sandrine, & Talli 144). Women in other societies have been implicated in determining satisfaction of sexual aspect. Such values expect the female gender to execute honor, self-sacrifice, passive behavior and sexual morality.

Stereotypes in the society can also have harmful effects to some members. Indian people, for instance, consider women and men as Hijra if they fail to meet various gender norms. The failure to of a woman to menstruate and transgender males are send to exile since the community perceives such individuals to be vulgar in their culture. The isolation causes stress to the Hiijra especially the male individuals.

There are communities that perceive the power of men over women as normal and natural factor. Such aspect makes the members of the society to view premature ejaculation as a defeat of a man in the power challenge with a woman. Men believe that fellow men experiencing these weaknesses are a punishment to them.

Advantages and Disadvantages of Sexual Object Perception

There are various effects on how individuals experiencing objectification face treatment in the society. The perception of individuals as sexual subjects alters the way people view others. Competence is an essential factor of a person in the community. The status that a person acquires is dependent how competent individuals position themselves (Loughnan and Maria). The sexualized subjects are also considered as possessing lower IQs than other members of the group. The sexuality objectified male and female members of the society also experience the perception from their colleagues to be of low worth and poor moral concern. The community views the sexual subjects as people who deserve no consideration morally and are awful women.

Individuals who are sexual subjects are subjected to various forms of treatment. Men would treat objectified women as objects they have entitlement for sexual enticement (Heinemann, Sandrine, & Talli 146). Such actions would amount to sexual abuse which manifests as undesired sexual interest. The worth of a woman depends on how she recognizes herself and as such, has feelings of other people's judgment.

Conclusion

The aspects of sexual objectification are experiencing rapid extension. The discussion above reveals how people in the society can transform and become objects for use by other members. Cultural beliefs determine how the society recognizes sexuality and as such the harm that both men and women can undergo.
