Introduction
The glass ceiling has been a metaphor that is used to look at the gender disparities that happen between men and women especially in the office. Although empowerment of women has continued, there have been a lot of barriers that prevent women from climbing high up the corporate ladder. These barriers are what prevent the women from taking managerial positions in a lot of the organizations. The situation has always been a limit to women advancement in the corporate world, and this invisible barrier has ever played a role in making it hard for the women to advance. Women are still working hard to get the big corporate jobs, and the stereotypes are what is holding them back. Most of the gender biases against women start right from the time of recruitment all the way to the issues of promotion. With what the society holds against women in management, they have found it hard to scale the ladder of success. Some of it goes down to the psychological perception that the women have, many women fear trying out because of the stereotypes. They cannot put themselves in positions to try and compete for these prominent positions because they are psychologically ready to lose against men. They will always fear to try out, and this happens especially in male-dominated fields like the sports arena.
Many factors contribute to this stereotype in the working place and recruitment. We have individual factors that contribute to this as well as organizational and cultural factors. All these factors affect the career progression of women in the corporate world. All these affect the glass ceiling and present the problems that face women in the workplace (Rathore, 2017).

Literature Review
Even at the current times women still face gender biases at the place of their work through this aspect is very hard to see. In many organizations, women are projected to be modest and also used as a stepping stone in forming or developing an effective team. This is a typecast which leads to the anticipation that they are always happy and satisfied to be given office housework which is equivalent to be given low- value tasks, for example, taking notes in meetings as well as monitoring the junior colleagues. Women usually perform these low - valuing job compared to men and they are usually least beneficiaries (Gil, 2017). In trying to avoid these perceived tasks, they are described as the stumbling block in team development. This issue of office work being handed being given to men can be seen to be insignificant yet it can have a lot of effects or cost career of women. It is a fact female workers ends up working for more or extended hours since they have to do the housework in office since they are perceived of being incapable of performing high- value work. There are those tasks which are perceived to be done by women within an office which in one way or the other lowers career level of women. These kind tasks also display how sexism has taken its position in many states despite being a developed county or a third world country. Some of these tasks which display sexism towards women include, answering of the phone call, setting up the meeting, as well as filling out all the paperwork. In addition to that, women are supposed to take notes within a meeting. These tasks might be seen as normal but in the real sense, they display sexism towards women. This is because not in any organization that one can find women being responsibilities of chairing the meeting or delegating duties.
