All the movies by the title Resident Evil find their roots in a Japanese Video that had the same name, but it was written by Capcom (Anderson, Npn) . In this paper, we shall look at how different social problems have been analyzed and represented by different characters and what are the major challenges that face the modern society and how the society deals with them.

The first social problem that has been represented by this movie is individualism. It is clear that in the modern society people have put their focus on their needs and the needs of those around them. The people no longer are concern about the needs of the people around them since they are consumed by their personal needs. At the beginning of the movie, this concept is presented when we see people walking in the streets on a rainy day. Each holds an umbrella for themselves alone, and they are not concern about sharing it with Alice who stands in the middle of the street being rained on.

Another social issue that is brought out in this movie is the indifference that exists among the people of the same gender, race and even nationality in the community. In the modern day society, a handshake is the smallest gesture of kindness to signify that you trust someone and you believe that you can work together. In the old society, it signifies unity

First, in the movie, they are those people who they think they are in better positions than others. In this case, we observe that Clare does not shake hands with Luther when they are introduced to each other this is because Clare feels superior to Luther since she has a plane (Kellner, 18). In another scene, we observe that Alice does not shake hands with Chris because she is in a cage. Thought they are the only survivor in the movie that has been seen they still don't trust each other and some feel internet compared to others. We also know that they are a different type of Zombie in the movie they are Zombies who are more significant than others and they too cannot die immediately they are shoot at.

The second type of indifferent in the society in usually between the rich, the middle class and the poor. The reach is secluded from the poor by a distinctive margin. The middle class strives to enter the class of the rich while the poor attempt to join the middle class. However the poor are usually many as compared to the rich.

In the movie, Acadia symbolizes the rich in the society. They usually enjoy the best things that they have. In this case, the people who live in the Acadia have water, food suppliers and at most, they are free from the T virus. The T virus, therefore, symbolizes poverty. Alice, Clare, Chris, Luther and the rest of the survivors symbolizes the middle class. Though they are free from T virus, they still struggling to get the basic things in life like food and they are in constant search to move to the Acadia. The Zombies represent the poor in the society. In the Movie, the Zombies are infected with the T virus, and they are also in a struggle to get food and other basic needs.

Another social issue presented in this movie is a betrayal. Betrayal is one of the reasons why society does not progress at the pace it should be progressing. This is because people who are selfish will always look for a way out without looking at the interest of the whole group. This is usually observed in our society during political times or when people are in search of better positions.

Ben in the movie betrays his friends when he first kills Cain the analysis the situation and observes that the others are not strong enough to oppose him, however Cain will pose opposition to his plan, and therefore he betrays the team when he kills the only person who understands electric things. He then goes ahead and steals the plane that Belongs to Alice. He does this because he only seeks to save his life alone. This betrays, therefore, slows down the speed of the team to get to Acadia first.

Seclusion is another social issue and fear that has been addressed in this movie. When people are secluded in the in a community, it means that they don't get an opportunity to share their ideas and experience, therefore, the people the community is not able to gain from this (Kellner, 15) . In the movie, we see that Chris has been secluded from the rest of the survivors because they think that he is a killer. People usually don't visit the section of the building where he has been caged. Later in the story, we notice that Chris has the most experience and knowledge of operating the things that are found in the prison where they have taken refuge.

The fact that they are only a few survivors left means that they have to seclude from the rest of the group because they are in danger of being contaminated. This can be symbolic of the seclusion of ideas in the society. People who are intellectually capable are usually secluded from the people who are thought not to be as gifted as other. As a result, they are an increase in intellectual difference hence when one person dies it becomes hard for the society since they never mentor someone to take their place.

Conclusion

For any society therefore to overcome this problem it is essential that all social boundaries be broken and people to be given liberty to associate with each other without having to fear any social barriers. It is also important for people to work together as a team in any society. People should be more concern with the needs of others instead of following their selfish ambitions so that they can achieve their goals together with society. The leaders of any community should also seek to bring social harmony in the decisions they make so that every member of the society can feel accepted and having a sense of belonging.
