Introduction
iPhone with no doubt has been the most revolutionary kind of phone every customer would prefer. Its history goes way back with its debut making waves in 2007 following the state of art of technology. So far for its manufacture, it cannot be linked to a single inventor since over 200 patents were part of the production. John Casey and Jonathan Ive who were Apple designers were among those instrumental in developing the vision of Steve Jobs for bringing to life the touchscreen smartphone. The initial concept for coming up with an iPhone type of device was in 2000 by John Casey who had the concept art of a Telipod which was a combination of a telephone and an iPod. However, the concept of Telipod never made its way to production, but still, Steve Jobs had the idea that touchscreen function kind of cellphones which had access to the internet would be the future of information access.
iPhone invention did put the world literally into our pockets as millions of people utilize the iPhone in almost most tasks like it serves as a payment tool, camera, a GPS device, music player, trip planner, communicator, and many others. The iPhone effect as compared to the many other kinds of smartphones it goes far beyond and has since transformed many lives following its advancement in technology. A point to note is that anything transformational introduces new inventions to solve existing problems. The main paper aim would be to give insights on iPhone invention following its state of the art of technology and how its production has impacted cultures where they are currently made and formerly where they originated.
iPhone Invention, its Origin, and History
In regards to how widespread they are in our society, its first invention was in 2007 fast forward ten new versions have been introduced in the market. It is an indication that in the future we should expect more since technology advances every other time. The history of the iPhone began with iPod in 2001 resulting in the first iPhone that had its fuller version marketed as an iPod that utilized a cutting edge technology like a mobile web browser and a touch keypad (Merchant, 2017). After the release of the first iPhone, Apple took over the market of smartphones coming up with LG and Samsung smartphones thus becoming the top competitors to iPhones. However, despite that still iPhones top the market a clear indication that the history of the iPhone is likely to advance even better in the future. The iPhone history explains better the invention of these devices from way back from the first iPhone release in 2007 which was the iPhone 2G. According to Steve Jobs, the introduction of the first iPhone marked the commencement of a new era of mobile communications (Merchant, 2017). The iPhone 2G did set the tone for all upcoming iPhones as this one had a GSM model and ever since the numbering continues from iPhone 2G, iPhone 3G, iPhone 3GS, iPhone 4, iPhone 4S, iPhone 5, iPhone 5S and iPhone 5C, iPhone 6, iPhone 6S and iPhone 6S Plus, iPhone SE, iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 Plus, iPhone 8, iPhone X, iPhone XS and iPhone XS Max, to iPhone XR. The iPhone XR came up in 2018 taking its resolution display further than it has ever been for the iPhone history.it is a phone with a 6.1 inch LCD with no OLED screen but with stunning visuals.
The iPhone innovation comes in with this iconic kind of touch screen technology. From way back in the 1960s that was the period when the first touch screen came to be. The early conceptualization of the idea was by Johnson, a radar engineer after which Apple later harnessed the potential. However, the touch-screen technology is collective efforts from studies done worldwide. Concretely, the other feature that makes the iPhone invention standout is the added internet functionality it owns. In 2004 Andy Grignon an Apple engineer improvised to the iPod the internet functionality that later credited the origination of the World Wide Web on the iPhones thus considered as an era to defining technology. Steve Jobs recognized iPhones as wide-screen iPod with a revolutionary mobile phone, with touch controls, and breakthrough internet device to seem like three products but it was merely one product the iPhone. Technology to the invention of this device was not enough, but it included other significant features like sensors that enhanced the experience with having the ability to turn off the screen automatically when put closer to the face.
iPhone is still ranked the best invention the reason being from its origination it encompassed much technology. Apple neither invented the touchscreen nor did they reinvent it but utilized the touch screen to devise past the graphical user interface creating a new interface that offered users the illusion of having the capacity to manipulate data with their hands. Apart from that its invention so far had built many platforms for instance when Apple came up with the iPhone, the standard -o bare-bones firmware was not thrown, but it took the OS X desktop operating system that which is fully featured and made it fit the iPhone steel case. It makes it more than just a gadget but a walk around computer having applications like Google maps which any customer would need them.
Additional Information About Iphones
The iPhone invention had its first model running under Apple's iOS operating system, but so far it has an interesting fact it bears which is the retina display it owns. It is one feature the iPhone bear thus being the most expensive component of the phone. The other feature which is the most costly is the Qualcomm wireless chips a technology from the chipmaker in the U.S. With this kind of network it gives the iPhone the capacity to provide wireless connectivity solutions.
From the invention of iPhones, it called the shots to smartphones evolution currently marking Apple as the best smartphone manufacturers globally. However, a point to note is how Apple used the iPhone trademark initially retained by Cisco after entering to negotiations, that displayed Steve Jobs great tactics to negotiating that had both come to an agreement that both should at all times show cooperation in areas to mutual concern.
Despite several lawsuits between Apple and Samsung, Samsung is still the company that creates the iPhone processor since they have the factories to make these chips that are later used by iPhones to come up with custom circuits and apart from that it produces the Apple large quantities of parts it may need.In the newer iPhone models, the chip manufactured by Samsung is what is used alongside A5 and A6 CPUs. Also in the iPhone 4S, it uses the random-access memory from Samsung thus making Apple appear to be having many suppliers.
iPhones Impacts on World Culture
According to Tim Cook the Apple CEO, he claimed it was not true that iPhone was not manufactured in the United States thus responding to critics there was of the ties China had with other countries (Xing & Detert, 2010). People are advised not to look at where the final product was assembled but have the idea that being in a global world then there is need to do manufacturing and assembly in different countries. iPhones are now made in the United States as it is they who manufacture the phone key components like the display glass. Similarly, the iPhone X face ID module comes from Texas and other Apple devices chips. Foxconn and Pegatron assemble devices in China after components made in the U.S are shipped abroad. It is with this kind of breakdown in production where they are now made that has most cultures impacted whereby they get a real revolution in the business industry (Qiu, Gregg & Crawford, 2014). Half of Apple iPhones tend to be made in Central China a place that buzzes in this activity thus improving the way of life of most individuals due to job creations. Foxconn in most of its towns and counties in Zhengzhou constitutes a complete industry chain that guarantees self-sufficiency and high efficiency to its production. At the Foxconn plant at most 94 iPhones production units have provided job opportunities to more than 350,000 employees thus improving the community livelihood. Besides the plant where now these iPhones are manufactured has expedited global shipments thus building the global networks with different countries enhancing the people's diversity.
Across the world, the breakdown in production has since built an economic ripple effect leading to much of international trade boosting worldwide shipping of the iPhones (Xing & Detert, 2010). Taiwan has so far been the home of manufacturing units like the Pegatron who do the actual iPhone production in mainland China leading to increase of orders enhancing the economy of the area thereby improving livelihoods of its citizens (Sener, Hacioglu & Akdemiral, 2017). Initially, before the iPhone production, most people worldwide felt safe using the software keyboards, but the invention brought about a different kind of way of having an on-screen keyboard ultimately having users dragged into future kind of keyboards. After years most individuals got the tendency thus pushed the ideas to overdo the resistance there was of having an on-screen keyboard. The breakdown in the production of iPhones has impacted adversely the cultures where they are now being made in that today people in those areas seem to have more options for making connections regardless of where they are. The iPhones stand out of having this big PC market that has had iPhones becoming tools for communications, productivity and pleasure since it kicked away the only approach that people could gain access to the internet which was either from a laptop or PC. Today people in the U.S have their health industry impacted following the invention of iPhones in such locations.it has since revolutionized the culture of people whereby they would now access adequate health information and monitor most health metrics anywhere and at any time with so much ease. iPhones has since impacted the cultures of people from where the production was being made changing the human culture thus seen as the most influential gadget to most consumers.
iPhones were formerly made in China, but the breakdown in production has since impacted the cultures were they were from creating bilateral trade imbalance. To date, most attention has had its focus on China's exchange-rate regime and macro factors while ignoring structural factors to global production networks and economies thereby reversing the conventional trade patterns (Xing & Detert, 2010). It further transforms the involvement of trade statistics weakening the effectiveness of trade balances exchange rates. Today in this global market it is not possible to define the location of a manufactured product the reason behind the labels on the behind the iPhone of where it is designed from which is Apple in California. iPhone production has seen the trade balance between the U.S and China, whereby the use of China as the assembly point of the iPhone components has since benefited the economy of the United States. Besides benefiting the factory workers from the U.S., It has impacted the way of life of many following the global supply chain of these devices since consumers get to gain from many Companies coming up as well as benefiting from the innovative products that Apple comes up with. Apple in turn after production of the iPhone devices utilizes its profits to remunerate its armies of engineers both the hardware and software and the marketers thus creating many jobs in the United States improving on people's lives.
Conclusion
In conclusion, the paper has given insights on iPhone invention, and how its production has impacted cultures, where they are currently made and formerly where they originated. iPhones own computer like qua...
