Introduction

The sexual attraction is the ability of an individual to cause attraction of interest that are erotic or sexual, and it is a factor in sexual selection or the mate choices. This ability can be associated with the physical appearance, scent and physical appearance. In other words, it is that attraction that is based on sexual desire or the arousing quality of such related interests. Sexual attractiveness is also called sexual appeal; it is an individual's ability to attract the sexual or erotic interest of the other people. This paper purposes on exploring sexual attraction in its entirety and associated factors that determine whether it becomes effective or non-effective.

Universal Attractiveness

There are universal traits that dictate or associate with the level at which the real attraction occurs. Some traits are general in determining whether there will be any form of attraction or not. It is very interesting that youthfulness and good health are some of the universal traits that are in the question. Youthfulness will call for a different experience that is animated, energetic gait and the high energy level also called fertility (Buss & Schmitt, 1993). By the mere fact that there exists youthfulness in an individual, there is a high probability that the level of sexual attraction will be very high unlike when the persons are old. It is also notable that young people seem to have more interest in matters concerning sexuality. Young people are more attracted to sex because of their nature and the state of their mind and their general mindset. It is not surprising that a lot of individuals seem to be more attracted to sex. The other thing that poses people to be easily attracted sexually is the stage of their good health. Healthy individuals are more likely to be attracted to sex than the individuals who are ill. According to Dolan (2015), healthy individuals will always be readily available to embrace every minute interests and signs of sexual attraction because their sets of the body are vulnerable to the attraction, good shot calls for better psychological preparation and mental preparation. A well-prepared mind will easily cause an attraction or be caused an attraction to have it in full. For instance, good health will call for beauty, clear skin and eyes, lustrous hair, symmetrical face and full lips. All these are critical causative components for sexual attraction. All these components of good health are key things that are determinant of whether the sexual attraction will occur or not.

It is also important to note that sometimes the signs of ill health are essentially considered as unattractive (Hu, 2018). The component of the unhealthy body does not contribute in any way to increase the attractiveness of an individual. Examples of factors that are associated with the unhealthy body are unclear skin, body fatigue, lips that are cracked and finally being over and underweight. Al these hinders attraction of an individual towards another just because it is not favorable and pleasing.

Physical and Sexual Traits

A study done conducted among the white British men concluded that medium-sized breasts were found to be the most attractive which accounted to 33% followed by large breasts accounting for 24%, very large, small and finally very small (Dolan, 12 July 2015). Concerning male pectoral, abdominal muscles and arm, it was found out that women were for a man that is moderately muscular in comparison to the non-muscular and those that are very muscular. Concerning the size of the penis, it was found out that the smallest flaccid penis had the lower score yet the largest flaccid penis had a very large score as the three intermediate flaccid sizes became among the three-penis sizes that were appealing. It's therefore important to note that sometimes physical appearances determined the level at which the attraction of the other individual will differ. Different physical appearances and manifestations will call for different and varied sexual attractions. Certain physical appearances and manifestations will call for an intensive sexual attraction while there are those that will call for a minute or slightly low sexual attraction. It is therefore of necessity that people remain knowing that different people are attracted differently.

Sexual Attraction in Men Versus Women

It is evident that men and women always look out for the distinct characters especially in those partners that they consider long term. A long-term partnership means that there will be long term engaging in sexual activities (Ford and Beach, 1951). Because of this, depending on whether they are men or women they keep on looking for different character traits that are not common in most of the populations to help themselves fulfil the longing and the desire deep within them. According to Dolan (2015), men compared to women, have their preference of their partners to be not only attractive from the outside but also in terms of education, kindness and be able to share their political ideas. On the other hand, women more than the men, have a very big desire for the partners that have not only good prospects in finances but also be ambitious stable in their emotions and be able to share their views on religion.

Choice of a Short or Long-Term Partner

In choosing a long or short-term mating partner, men are less picky for the relationships that are short term; they also have the mating strategy that is short term grounded in the desire for sexual variety. Most of all are that they need less amount of time to pass than women before choosing to engage in the act of sexual activity (Puts, 2016). On the other hand, for women, they are more likely to avoid relationships that are short term, they are also picky when it comes to the background of long and short-term partners since there is an associated cost or benefit of potentiality (Ford and Beach, 1951). Finally, they cause the evaluation of almost every partner for the long-term period.

In conclusion, it is evident that different groups and individuals have different tastes and preferences. What attracts someone else to sexual activity might not be what attracts the other individual. Also, sexual attraction does not just come at any time and any situation and circumstance, it has specific time and circumstance depending on many factors that revolve around components that facilitate the attraction itself. They are all linked to one major source which is what motivates the level of sexual attraction.
