Introduction
It is about time that laws are made regarding gun control. Various issues have always arisen regarding guns that cost people a lot to the extent of mortality. Today, it is ridiculous to find that people can access and buy guns easily than some years back. It is inarguable that guns have always been a source of tension in the American Society. Compared to other European countries, the US is connected to the right to possess various arms, and that is covered in their constitution. Gun violence has recorded a long history to the community, either through ways related to law enforcement or crime. Gun control laws are then being implemented and these cover issues such as the desensitization of gun violence concerning the modern entertainment, the lasting impacts of mortality to all, and the ramifications of being educated in environments with gun violence (Agger and Timothy 107). I have been raised in an environment where crime has been an issue with routine combats between the government and criminals, most of who own guns, either legally, or illegally. Besides seeing the enforcement of various laws regarding gun control, the government strives to make sure that the community lives in peace regardless of the extent of harms being caused.
The gun issue has been contentious to me, and I have witnessed various resistances from advocacies. Most of the arguments I have met related to guns being included and considered as a public health factor, even though I believe that it only leads to more of the bad than the good. The impacts related to gun violence include an increased regulatory control of ownership of the firearms, and not less than that. In turn, that leads to conflict, even though it is believed by many that it is a constitutional right. Therefore, I would not vouch for the legal ownership of a tool that could cause more harm to my community.
Gun violence is one of the most challenging of public health issues in society (Butts 51). Diving deeper into the impacts associated with gun violence, one would find that the negatives associated with holding those tools outweigh their positives. I would advocate more for gun regulation as well as the keeping of such deadly weapons out of the hands of potential killers. However, only little is known regarding the impact of gun violence. I have seen more pervasive consequences associated with gun violence as well as the effects on the entire communities, the families, and children. Beyond gun regulation, the holding of firearms has been associated with the impact to those traumatized through the impacts which include community violence.
Instances of frustration have been associated with the role of guns in various societies as well as their glorification in the media. My society values gun ownership as a key value and most of the people in my community feel that they are entitled to gun ownership without understanding its consequences. Additionally, most people dislike any hitches that limit their access to guns and which include gun control. Considering I come from a community of high poverty rate, it is difficult for approximately anyone to prevent gun-based crime. Worst of all, the media plays a part in the glorification of gun use hence; promote using gun violence as a way of conflict resolution (Campion et al. 1679). However, considering all factors, gun ownership cannot be associated with conflict resolution but the negative societal crime.
