Research Paper on Dependency on Technology

Thesis: Technological developments should be universal and people all over the world should have equal access to these virtues of modernity.

Introduction

As technology becomes advances, so does human reliance. People are becoming overly reliant on technology for their daily activities. Communication, industrialization, and transportation are just a few sectors that rely on technology to function. The aim of this article is to examine the extent that human being relies on technology. It will also aim at finding out whether the reliance is moderate or have become extreme.

Advantages of Technology

Technology has been able to change the way people communicate. Communication has become efficient, cheaper and faster. People are able to communicate from long distance through different means such as video calls, text messages or voice calls. The advent of technology has enabled people from different cultures to better understand each other. Technology has also changed the medical field. The efficiency that doctors are able to conduct surgery, carry tests and research has improved the lifespan of individuals Technology has also increased the number of jobs in the world. There has been a rise a group of people who need to work on the systems to ensure they work efficiently. Technology has also been able to increase efficiency in businesses. Many companies have integrated technology into their companies to ensure efficiency, quality service, and product delivery. Finally, technology has been able to improve the way education is conducted and changed how we interact socially. Students from around the world can be able to access education without having to live their countries.

Disadvantage of Technology

Technology is changing at a rapid pace. New gadgets keep manufacturing making the old ones absolute. The old gadgets end up being disposed of in causing landfills which are dangerous to the environment. Technology is also responsible for loneliness and poor social interaction. People spend a lot of time communicating with friends online and forget to go out and make new friends. Technology has also played a critical role in job losses. Although some jobs were created by technology, there are many other jobs that were lost because of mechanization. Finally, technology has played a role in the world insecurity. Since most of the things are conducted with the help of technology, people have fallen victims of hackers who have stolen people's identity and sometimes their money.

Conclusion

Technology has been able to improve human life through the improvement of communication, education, and healthcare. People are able to live longer because of technology. However, the same technology has been able to cause losses of jobs and increase the security threats in the world. It is essential to balance the technology that we have to ensure it is used for the betterment of the humans.
