Introduction

The business context covers the circumstances in an event setting, and it gives an understanding of the factors that influence the activities of a company. A business context is made of the procedures followed in running an organization, the various benefits that accrue from performing certain operations, and understanding areas of weaknesses. Workers and buyers are part of the context, and they play a critical role in the growth of an industry, and it consists of activities flow. I want to work in the products and service industry and have a chance to serve a wide range of clients. The reason why I would like to work in this industry is to ensure that I participate in economic growth (Quain, 2018). The product and service industry is one of the sectors that has employed a significant number of people in the world that pays their taxes to the government. Therefore, their payments are critical in enabling the authorities to meet their obligation of offering public services such as quality medical services, good road interwork, and security. Working in this industry will be one way of guaranteeing good health to my family and everyone in society. The sector provides room for growth and creativity among the entrepreneurs, and I believe I will gain a lot by undertaking activities in this industry (Heiges, 2016). The sector requires people that are thinking beyond their competitors in the market to win customers, and this is an issue that i find fascinating. There is no particular way of completing chores, and every entity must adopt its unique style to meet customers' needs. The idea of being unique enables an entity to sell its goods to millions of consumers contributing to the growth of an economy and provision of employment to people. Joining this industry will provide a chance to learn new skills. The activities in this sector mainly involve interacting with different kinds of people, and this enables a worker to understand various customers' needs (Redman, 2019a). The understanding is crucial for future business growth since a company can manage to align its products and services in a manner that the consumers get satisfaction. Interacting with different people will enable me to acquire problem-solving abilities, manage to think logically, develop leadership and communication skills, and become creative. The sector is fast-paced, and it makes the service providers to remain always alert on any emerging trend in the market (Redman, 2019 b). The use of the latest technologies makes the process more exciting, for they help people to have innovative products for the consumers. Perks and salaries are a motivating factor, and I believe by working in this industry, I will manage to get a good salary to meet my various needs (Horwitz, 2017). However, the primary issue that will keep me motivated to remain in the product and service industry is the satisfaction derived by consumers' by using the commodities that we offer them.

The fascinating organization type that i would like to join in the products and service industry is a chain of multinational supermarkets. I stand to gain a lot of benefits, such as improving customer services and communication skills. The customer services cover the activities offered to consumers before, during, and after a purchase of commodities (Meyersohn, 2019). Understanding these activities presents employees with a chance to interact with a wide range of people from different backgrounds managing to improve communication skills. I will also manage to know how to work under pressure and with a busy team. The service industry does not have a standardized way of doing business since an entity serves customers with different demands. Therefore, it is always advised to handle each client based on their request to ensure they are all satisfied. The future of any entity is based on their ability to retain customers and keep them involved by making them happy and satisfied (Relex, 2019). The responsibility placed upon me in the supermarket chain will enable me to understand how to solve any arising issues. The self-managed skills, such as punctuality, trustworthiness, and willingness to improve are developed in this sector for employees are allowed to interact with consumers. Despite having supervisors, the employees are given a chance to be their bosses and to make decisions about their line of duty.

The United States would be the best location for the chain of supermalls that I join. The country has one of the most advanced economies in the world, and this gives the business an upper hand in running its activities. The business environment is critical to the future growth of an entity, and having a company in an environment that is stable is crucial to its survival. There will be a guarantee that the business will not collapse shortly since any closure would spell doom to my life and that of my fellow workers. Therefore, in the United States, there is a guarantee that the firm will be operational for the long-term.

Trends/Topics in the Business Environment

The product and service industry and in particular, the supermarket sector is currently experiencing significant changes. I may fond of technological growth, and tools advancement, and the sector is moving towards the e-commerce platform. There is a global consumer shift towards the rise of online trading to make purchases. The move is likely to raise the volume of sales and earnings made by a business since the customer can purchase the goods at the comfort of their homes. They do not have to visit the stores physically. The scan-and-go mode of shopping is a procedure that limits the time taken to shop, and buyers do not have to queue to make the payment. The procedure is speeding up the sales process. The sector has various strengths, weaknesses, opportunities, and threats that can derail the operational process.

One of the advantages of working in this sector that interest me is the desire to work with a recognized brand. It is the dream of every employee to be associated with the best entities for this gives a form of satisfaction from within. Happiness and emotional stability are realized when an individual is satisfied with what they are doing. Therefore, working for a good company will ensure that I am maintaining a healthy life. A large brand name will provide the entity with the economies of scale, efficiency in the utilization of the available resources, and have market power over the suppliers and rival businesses in the market. These advantages will translate to beneficial business processes for the supermarket, and these benefits will trickle down to me as a worker. Another benefit that I will manage to realize is the ability of the firm to have a global presence and expansion capability. I admire moving to different parts of the world, and working with a multinational supermarket will give me a chance to get posted to other parts of the world.

A multinational supermarket has a chance of forming strategic alliances with other major entities in the world. Merging and amalgamation is an element that gives large companies an opportunity to widen their operations, earning levels, and raise their employees' quality of life. Merging with the small companies will provide an entity the chance to dominate the market and get the surety of having a large customer base (Szatvanyi, 2019). Therefore, I am interested in joining this sector, for I believe that I will also be employed and the instances of losing employment are low. Jib security is critical in the modern world, where life uncertainties are on the rise. However, working in a supermarket will guarantee a good life in the future.

I am interested in the weaknesses depicted in the supermarket sector, for I am a goal-oriented individual. My desire to solve the various issues happening in life is a significant motivation to join the industry and playing a role in finding a solution to the various issues affecting the industry. For a long time, supermarkets in the world have been accused of treating their workers in a worrying way and offering poor working conditions. I believe that by working in this sector, I can help rectify these issues that workers have been suffering from over the years. I know that I can rise through the ranks and manage to hold the seniors positions in a chain store. Based on my position, I will have the chance to dictate the way that the stores will be run and the perks that should be advanced to the subordinates. The large span of control is another problem that affects the operations of a supermarket (McKiernan, 2017). Working in this system interests me, for I believe that the advancement in technology is a tool that can be used to manage these problems that result from the issue of operating a large entity. The use of emerging trends, such as e-commerce and the scan-and-go model of making purchases, can help to solve this issue.

The supermarkets are faced with various threats that adversely affect their business processes, such as being a target for competition. What interests me is the desire to overcome adversities affecting my area of employment. Winning over the competition offered by rival entities and managing to retain our customers and bring others on board presents a suitable element of satisfaction. Therefore, threats to the sector do not restrict me, but instead they raise the desire from within to join the industry and conquer. Another danger that faces the supermarket chains is the legal and political issues. I am a big advocate of following the rule of law. When the supermarkets follow the set regulations, chances of facing legal charges are low (Wortz, 2018). I am this interested in joining the industry to ensure that all the stakeholders interested in the affairs of the sector are following the set rules. Some of the organizations that are based in the United States that interest me include Lidl US, Walmart, Woolworths, and ShopRite. The above strengths, opportunities, threats, and weakness are notable in these three entities. I believe that when i join one of these firms, I will have the chance to implement my ideologies and find satisfaction on the duties that will be assigned to me.

Human resources strategies have a chance of improving the activities that are conducted in the supermarket sector. The system can manage the threats and weaknesses experienced and ensure that the opportunities are taken to improve the performance and earnings of a business. Through human resource activities, organizations can manage to optimally work on their strengths, a move that earns a business more extensive customer base, high volume sakes, and a happy workforce (Ybema, van Vuuren & van Dam, 2017). The human resources can help to manage employee issues, such as poor working conditions and low salary levels. An effective system will ensure that a firm is not targeted for criticism on matters of employee mistreatment. Managing to have a happy, healthy, and happy workforce is one of the main strategies that guarantee success. A company can only manage to implement ideas if their staff members are willing and ready to work in line with the ideologies of the company.

Another human resource practice that can lead to a difference in the business context is the introduction of performance-linked bonuses. Most of the time, organizations offer equal salaries to workers in the same levels of management irrespective of the quality of services delivered by each employee.
