An interview carried out on American-Pakistani male students on the topic How Pakistani Men See Feminism in their Culture, in a restaurant on3:15 PM on Thursday, (11-7-2019) bared prudent outcome. The respondents were willing enough in giving out information on the topic. Even though sometimes there exist lies in an interview either when the respondent does not want to reveal the reality, or instead paint the information in a manner that he or she exaggerates too much. Basing on this interview, critically, Interviewee was open enough to give out information.
It is observed at first that feminism truly exists in Pakistani Culture. The Interviewee reveals the existence of a patriarchal system. This is the system where males dominate in many of the functions, that is male dominate over female. On answering the question when and how the feminism in Pakistan culture will become relevant to the male and why the respondent volubly responded that it is only when the Pakistani men will learn how patriarchal system works. Also, on answering why feminism in the Pakistan culture will become relevant to the male, the Interviewee earnestly answered that most Pakistan's citizens would increase their interests in feminism and reclaim the freedom women never enjoyed historically. This is a clear picture of the society in Pakistan.
The reality continues to be exhibited when one of the Interviewee was asked if feminism was a problem for the men. On giving out the answer, it was admitted that it is true, feminism is a problem for Pakistani men. It was elaborated that Pakistan men have a thought of being attacked. The statement have the reality in it.in modus operandi, based on the fact that the patriarchal system has been existing in their Culture, therefore, trying to come up with feminism campaigns and sort of empowerment becomes an attack towards bringing down men and diminishing their image in society.
Basing on the fact of women empowerment, the respondent said that women are mostly affected by the sector of employment. Therefore, employment is the core factor that influences the empowerment of women. This is basing on the fact of the husband-wife bargaining framework. This clearly shows how men dominate in the Culture and the lives of women. Other factors such as education, economic participation of women, property rights, and economic variables in society depending on class, climate, and race.
It was also revealed that there are some of the challenges that feminist activists face after one interviewee was asked about the challenges the feminist face. Among the problems was the lack of awareness in Pakistan society. The majority of the people in Pakistani have little or even lack the knowledge behind empowering women. As stated earlier, some men tend to find it as an attack. Also, some tend to assume that the practice doesn't encourage equality; rather, it is seen as the practice that causes conflict among genders. Therefore this makes the feminists have a hard time in their activities. Also, to some extent, the feminist receives threats. This is so terrifying until they seek legal assistance to protect them.
Conclusion
On the side of the efforts by women on ensuring to have their rights exercised, it was probed that there is little effort, albeit compared to the past, there is an improvement. Basing on the same line, it was also investigated that due to the stereotypes, religion, and Culture in general, feminism activities find it hard to convince people since even religion doesn't support them. Media was also praised for the role it is playing in encouraging feminism by reporting decimation issues concerning women. Therefore, the honesty of the Interviewee brought enables the interviewer to come out with better articles or research reports that will have little criticism.
