Many people often ask about UAE's Red Crescent commitment towards humanitarian efforts. However, the actions of the UAE around the world typify what Red Crescent is all about and why people should support its mission as well. Indeed, a closer look at how the organization's activities usually take place, the parties involved, and the objectives could say all about the need to partner with it as well. Indeed, if all the wealthy countries in the world could take such dimensions, there is no doubt that the world would be peaceful. In the same way, the ever fighting countries such as Yemen and the Democratic Republic of Congo would be peaceful and developing economically.
Through the UAE's Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, and with the support of its executive organs, UAE has been supporting humanitarian efforts that typify what the Red Crescent should prioritize. The aim of recent pacts is supporting humanitarian efforts in Yemen, Myanmar, and the Democratic Republic of Congo as well as other areas in crisis. As generally known and observed through the different media outlets, the countries haven't been in a stable state for long. Therefore, with such interventions, there is a higher chance that things will cool down and human beings will start working to realize their potential.
Recently, UAE made a pact of $11 million. Through Reen bint Ibrahim Al Hashemy, the Minister of State for International Cooperation, UAE made a promise to play a supportive role in humanitarian effort to make the world a better place. The event took place during the 73rd Ordinary Session of the UN which recently happened in New York. By and large, such an initiative is not just a humanitarian effort but also a way of enhancing UAE's international relations. The Red Crescent should also be in the leading line to ensure UAE achieves its objectives nationally and internationally.
Some of the refugees from Myanmar as BBC News (2018) demonstrate them. UAE Red Crescent can also support such programs to make the world better.
As the Emirates News Agency reported, UAE intends to give Red Crescent's mother body a total of $11 million to help different countries to overcome various problems. The country with the largest share in the $11 million that UAE contributed is Yemen. In its part, Yemen is a beneficiary of $6 million; this amount is intended to help in developing health centers as well as supporting sanitation and water facilities. Myanmar and DRC will get $1 million each for humanitarian efforts. In such a case, it is possible to realize a world where peace and tranquility prevail.
Speaking after the event in New York, Al Hashemy also reiterated that UAE is highly committed to achieving peace and prosperity worldwide. Other target areas that it will keep supporting include foreign aid policy without forgetting anything humanitarian in nature as well as development projects. Although hypothetical, it is right to deduce that crises and the need for humanitarian assistance will never end. Accordingly, the role of Red Crescent in the community should not be restricted to what its mother organization is doing. Although the conflicts experienced in some parts of the world need more than the effort of one organization, Red Crescent can be in the leading line to support where it is possible.
