Race relation in America has gotten better since Dr. King delivered his speech in 1963. I am for the idea and will argue that at least by now the blacks in the US can feel protected and not neglected as before. America has moved a step since the speech of D.r King was delivered which inspired the entire nation and transformed their minds of people in a perspective at which they consider the Negro.

In the year 1964, the act of the significant Civil Rights bill was passed over, and the outcome was that the whites who had blacks as their friends were 18%, but currently, it is 86%. The race relation is progressively being brought to an end. As per the news, above 40% of the black Americans is found to lie at the middle-class stage. About 42% have established stable homes which rise to 75% when we look at the blacks who are married. The whites earn only 13% more than two-parent couples of the black. The population of the black in suburbia is nearly a third which is an improvement according to the research done

When it comes to the poverty line, the blacks were living poorly in the late 1950s, but that improved instantly such that by 1970, the income gap was cut by black men by almost a third. On average, they were earning nearly 60 percent of what the whites were receiving at that particular time. The more impressive one is that of black women who are advancing. Dramatically, life expectancy also increased as well as the rate of black homeownership. In terms of education, the rate at which the blacks enroll in colleges rose up to almost 10% which was ten percent that of prewar (Weeks, Kent M. 2014).

The tread has been continuing in past years although at a slow pace. Currently, as we are speaking, almost 60% of the black women and 30% of the black men are now having white -collar jobs which are achievements to the country because, in 1970, there were only 22% physicians of America who were black. Black Americans with middle- class incomes have risen to about 40 percent.

Honoring Dr.King, the race relation is seen to have improved even though many say that the administration of president trump has undermined race relation. Actually what has changed is the lessening of the debate of the players in the National League which was "taking of a knee" during the singing of the national anthem. October of 2017, the Americans refused the position which was stood by president Trump that any of the athletes who knelt should be automatically fired without compromising.

Recently, the race relation in America has been more harmful in the black Americans point of view than the whites themselves. However, this opinion has improved. The group who are more positive are the Republicans. Majority of about 45 percent believe that race relation was generally good. All the progress which has occurred is more connected to the speech of Dr.King which is seen to have become very instrumental. The protest marches which he led speeded up legislation of the civil rights. Thirty-nine percent of the people believe in the dream of Dr.King of racial equality which was reflected in his speech "I Partake a vision." (Fasching-Varner, et al 2014).

Dr.King spoke of a transformed America in which people will not be judged in respect to their skin color but by the character which is exploded by their content. It becomes more evident when Barack Obama was nominated by the Democratic Party to vie for the most powerful office in the land, and that is the presidency. Barack Obama proved to the world that everyone has the potential of becoming successful and bringing a difference regardless of the color nor origin. American citizens voted for him, and he won the elections thus becoming the first black American to become the president. That shows that race relation in America has become better to the extent that even the black Americans themselves feels well represented even in the Government and all other institutions in the in the country. In 1967, the Supreme Court ruling knocked down a Virginia act that prevented the whites from intermarrying with the black Americans. That ruling favored the blacks and opened a way to integration to some extent.

Minorities participating in electoral process today is remarkable when it is compared to the tome when D.rKing was alife. In the year 1969, nine blacks were there in U.S House of Representative which consisted of four hundred and thirty-three members. Around the '60s, there were approximately three hundred elected black to local office and state.

Conclusion

Without compromising, I, therefore want to say that race relation in America have gotten better even though it has not reached the expected level. At least the dream of Dr.King has not gone in vain, and I believe that more is going to happen. "Finally free!" words which are seen in his speech has become true.
