Philo's Position

According to Philo God cannot exist yet people go through suffering and claiming that there is a creator who can protect his people. He figures out how people affirm the existence of a loving God yet they still go through pain and suffering because according to the norm God saves his people from the suffering they go through and if he genuinely exists then his people should not go through suffering. The philosopher argues that proving that God exists is not enough because he allows his people to go through pain and establishing that he exist is not sufficient because his people continue to face turmoil. Philo explains that exists although it is not easy to tell why people go through affliction yet they claim that God exists.

Sutherland's rejections of Adams terrible evil depicts the conflict in the understanding of God where Adam argues that there is God and evil and it does not justify that because he exists human beings should not suffer pain. Adam claims that there is terrible evil on earth and that is why suffering came to the world. It is therefore paramount to note that Adam associates are suffering from the horrendous crime that exists among the people on earth.

Philo's position can be compared to Sutherland's rejection of horrendous evil because they both argue that there is no such thing as evil and if God exists then he should not allow his people to suffer. They also argue that evil does not exist as Adam explains. On the other hand, they differ because Philo explains that sin exists, but it should not make people suffer because there is God while Sutherland does believe that crime exists.

The problem can be solved by harmonizing the various beliefs that each scholar has without disregarding anyone's argument. However, it will be difficult to have a common understanding of God, suffering, and evil because every philosopher has his or her way of arguing issues are reading religion and each one of them is right depending on what they believe.

Descartes Concept

Descartes concept of radical doubt explains that nothing can be proved to be the truth before it is subjected to doubt. A person's thoughts and beliefs are subjected to challenge and a procedure to determine the truth of each though is carried out. The claim must be justified by concrete reasons to make it right beyond any reasonable doubt. Radical doubt according to Descartes helps him in distinguishing between what is real and false. It separates reality from fiction.

According to Descartes evil genius is a cunning demon that is clever and can trick people into thinking what is wrong might be right. He further adds that the evil wizard prevents people from judging correctly. The philosopher argues that our thoughts may be controlled by demons. The author explains that the demons are malicious and easily corrupts the minds of the people. The idea of evil genius according to the philosopher represents the inner sound in the brain that convinces people to do the wrong things.

Descartes argument for the Cognito is that because he can be deceived by the demons, then it means that he exists. The philosopher implies that because he lives beyond a reasonable doubt. He proves this by explaining that by being deceived then it means that he exists. Descartes argues that he is an imperfect being and therefore there must be a perfect being who is God. Similarly, he claims that because he is flawed the was not existent by himself and therefore there must be someone who brought him to the existence, and he argues that it is God.

Descartes defends the truth of the science by arguing that it is made up of laws and because the rules exist it means that science exists. He says that the law can be subjected to test to ascertain the truth in them. It, therefore, implies that because there laws then science exist. His argument is valid because without laws science could not survive it means consequently that statutes define how and why science live.

Pascal Arguments

It is not true that if people bet that God exists and he does not exist persons will lose nothing because when people believe that God exists they tend to be disciplined and look up to him for provisions. If it can cost nothing, then it means there is no liability for sin. Believing in God and he does not exist carries weight because it will be a waste of time.

If one accepts that God exists he will grant the person eternal life because of the belief and faith in him. God will be good enough to allow the person eternal life because they have had faith in the existence of God and they cannot be left out but granted salvation. God gives salvation to those people who believe in him.

Turing Arguments

Descartes can respond to Turing by disputing its position because the AI cannot think regarding doubting and believing in itself. As human beings can thin and challenge themselves, the AI cannot do this tasks. Therefore, it is a wrong assumption fro Turing to think that what a human being can do the AI can also do. Cognito ergo sum gives states that a person believes that they exist because if the mind can doubt, then it means that a person lives. But since Turing's case, the AI cannot think or question then it cannot do what humans do.

Russell's justification helps Turing's arguments because it believes in the things that have always existed and unless something different happens when the AI can still perform specific activities that a human being can achieve. Russel argues that people familiarize with the things around them.

Descartes, Russel, and Humes

Our evidence for the existence of an external world that is similar to our perceptions is stronger because according to Descartes there is eternal life and there is God, the way we perceive the external world is actually what it is. Russel argues that the things that always happen will continue to be the same unless there is a change that interferes the usual way of doing things. There is an external world that exists, and it is controlled by a supernatural being. God exists, and it does not mean that there will be no suffering. As Humes questions that if there is God why do people suffer is an indication that they doubt the existence of a supreme being. A case that Descartes disputes are arguing that even if there is God suffering is part of human life.
