Career Objective and Background

From an early age, I have always been focused and sincerely interested in computing. I have always been in a position of wanting to know the importance and how to use computers, and what they could do. I have been able to work as being a data scientist at one of the companies known as Tech Company found in California, having experience in the sector of statistics education, solid math and on machine learning.

Firstly, I received an honorary degree in Mathematics from Xiamen University in China. Also, I graduated with master's degree in Biostatistics from the University of South Carolina; I, therefore, took C language that is algorithm and data structured covered, MATLAB, machine learning and other computer science related math and statistics courses.

During my bachelor thesis research, I was able to develop a fast algorithm in the performance of image fusion and the denoise using the available C language and the MATLAB. I discovered the use of R which helped me in realizing the Gaussian mixture clustering it with the batch thus affecting removal in my master's thesis. Besides my research learning, I applied algorithms and visualized data to be a research assistant at USC.

In my professional career, I began as data analysts in one of the health care research institution, which has been a career driven by enthusiasm. In machine learning, I was able to apply classification, cluster, logistic regression, random forest, NLP and another machine in learning techniques to projects which include; cost analysis, risk patient monitor, risk patient prediction and the prescription analysis.

After being a member of this company as being a data scientist, I shifted my focus on my work on how I will be able to solve business problems using machine learning. Where I was privileged and happy with my work, I began with the development of fraud detection network which I used graph theory to avoid fake user issue. Also, there is a project which I'm currently working on which is on redesigning and building on the recommendation by combining the content based filtering using photo clustering and collaborative filtering by user viewer and spending of data.

On my daily activities coding is what I love most, a data scientist is a hybrid position, on the one hand, I can design and create dashboard as a front end engineer. On the other side, I am in a position to manipulate data, organize, evaluate and optimize the models and designing the algorithms in ensuring the performance of the calculations in the models. I, therefore, do believe that I'm well prepared and confident for this program, and I can be able to fit in and benefit in my future career.

Statement of Purpose

I, therefore, am applying for the Georgia Institute of technology's online computer science program in regards to a particular interest in the machine learning track. I am one of the employees working as a data scientist working at a tech company in California having experience in machine learning, with a background in statistic and mathematics. In my area of specialization is on the programming language which is the python. But I am also familiar with R, C, and MATLAB. Coding is what I love in my day to day life. Being a data scientist who is a hybrid position I design and create dashboards as a front end engineer. Hence I can also manipulate data, generate and evaluate and optimize models as a tactician and designing of algorithms in ensuring performances in the calculation in models like the back end engineer.

This machine four years ago I was exposed to it during my studies at the University of South Carolina. During that particular period, machine learning was a hot topic where my advisor and I were interested in it. Almost a year in my studies which mainly entailed the research and applications I made my thesis on it also my career had been achieved. My career professionalism began as a data analyst at one of the health care research organization, which I loved it because of enthusiasm in it, during machine learning I applied cluster, classification, random forest and other machine techniques to projects which include, risk patient monitor, risk patient predictor, cost analysis, and prescription analysis.

During my last year, I joined my current company as a data scientist where I focused on solving issues using machine learning. I developed fraud detection network by use of graph theory in avoidance of fake user issue. As per now, I'm working is redesigning and building a recommendation system for steam video recommendation by combining content-based filtering using the photo cluster and collaborative filtering by viewing and use of data.

I'm as well planning to further learn on these machines to achieve long term goals such as deep learning, reinforcement learning, distributed computing, and other machine learning techniques.

Conclusively, I have found out that the course in your program suits me well in achieving the long term goals. For the short term goals in my current position, there are some future projects which I can use the knowledge from your computer vision and artificial intelligence courses.
