The American family strengths Inventory helps to discuss family records and qualities that make family members strong and strengthen their plan formulation to improve in areas to their weaknesses. In both inventories, the lessons learned are good at coping with life conflicts and learning how to live harmoniously with each other (Colapinto, 2015). The theoretical frameworks of studying family strengths using ABCX model are social theories which are the core strength of discipline. Situational stressors are experiences of stress when you are in a scary situation that you can't control, for example, an emergency. The common stressors for adults and children are the death of loved ones, divorce, loss of jobs, and an increase in financial obligations and moving to a new home.

ABC-X model of family stress and coping, analyses how families cope with stress. It consists of a stressor event, available resources to the family and the perception of the family to stress and the likelihood of a crisis. It explains whether a family can adapt to the crisis. In the United States, research has shown that string families have numerous qualities that contribute to family members having a sense of personal worth and feelings of satisfaction in their relationships with each member.

The stages of the family life cycle that are associated with crises are independence, marriage, parenting, launching adult children a retirement of family seniors from jobs. Every gender is assigned its role; for example, men are assigned to solve conflicts arising between and among family members. It helps to prevent feelings of alienation and stigma whenever faced with a stressor. In the ABC-X model of family stress and coping, analyses how families cope with stress. Crises experienced culturally diverse families allow members to move from one stage of life to the next (Widmer, 2016). The Double ABCX model explains how to empower culturally diverse families of young children with disabilities. The population of children and families who receive early intervention in the United States is becoming diverse. Families in the United States are diverse in ways such as culture, the orientation of gender, economic status, type and nature of work, religious beliefs and structure. There are single-parent families, migrant families, gay and lesbian families as well as adopted children, which the ABCX model represents some of the diverse families. Families with diverse backgrounds at most feel helpless and stressful because their values are not respected. Their concerns are not identified and therefore, they lack support from appropriate resources.
