Introduction
Both Baumrind and Alder have described a couple of parenting styles. As such, it is essential to identify parenting styles that offer similar concepts, as illustrated by both psychologists. The permissive parenting style presented by Baumrind presents similar concepts like that of the style of a neglectful parent presented by Alder. Permissive parenting involves parents allowing their children to do as they desire with limited guidance on the most appropriate ways of living. Neglectful parenting similarly states the protective situation presented to children with their parents, not warning or protecting them from the adverse situations experienced with life. Baurmind’s uninvolved style presents similar concepts to Auder’s democratic parenting style. Children are allowed to divide on the most rational ways of life that they are comfortable with in life.
Advantages of Listing only Four Main Parenting Styles
Parents are offered a more precise understanding of the type of parenting styles implemented. There is a better understanding of the pros and cons of each. They then develop precise deductions on their expectations from implemented parenting styles.
More Parenting Categories
More categories to these parenting styles present extensive knowledge of all psychological behaviors existing with parenting. As such, it enables more appropriateness and effectiveness to strategies implement during child development.
Results of Identified Parenting Styles
From the availed descriptions of expected results from the implementation of selected parenting styles, they make a lot of sense. It is considering that a child’s mind is guided by whatever situations that they encounter while growing up. The naiveness present is not a concrete basis to choose what is wrong or right—better guidance and education to the best ways of living grasped rather than ignored. The adult sense of superiority and ability to make decisions as they desire seems at odds to every listed parenting style.
Personal Childhood Experience
The models significantly associate with the kind of relationship a parent establishes with their child. While growing up, this was similarly established from the virtues and values that different parents identify with living. Baurmind’s model illustrates with decisions the impacts of listed parenting styles on both parent and child behavior. As such, one easily identifies the type of relationships existing within various households.
Prefered Parenting Style
I would prefer the implementation of Alder’s democratic parenting style. It is because ways of living are now changing significantly. Children should be given a chance to decide on what activities they are comfortable with while growing up. The endeavors that each would like to pursue vary. For example, a child should be able to choose a career they feel they are good at and, as such, can do well in the same. While preparing to becomes a parent, it is essential to understand and consider the various parenting styles. It is because every parent desires to raise prosperous children who are readily accepted to society. The type of parenting style implemented a significant determinant on personal growth, behavior, and relationships with others.
