Describe the anatomical position of the V1 electrode placement

This is a great example video of a stress test protocol, however, why is it not accurate that they called it a VO2 Max test in the video?

The machine and the procedure utilized during the test is useful in measuring the heart rate during anaerobic exercise. However, a VO2 max test is used in measuring the amount of oxygen intake, and it is usually in milliliters per 1kg of the body in a minute. Effective VO2 max test requires utilizing an oxygen mask connected to a machine that measures the amount of oxygen inhaled and air exhaled. Therefore, the experiment in the video is not a VO2 max test since the patient is not connected to an oxygen mask, and the oxygen inhaled and air exhaled is not recorded.

Consider the report that she gave at the end of the test.

Why (relative to your career path) would it be good to understand how this test was run and the relevance of the results? How would you use this information?

Stress, anxiety, and depression are significant problems facing the majority of adults globally. When the human mind is stressed, it affects other nerves in the body, which may result in physical problems. Ideally, during physical exercise, the human nerves are stimulated, aiding the mind in managing stress. As therapists, it is essential to know the extent of aerobic exercises that a patient can handle to recommend it to them as stress management therapy. I would use the information to either clear the patient for vigorous exercises or simple aerobic exercises depending on his heart and blood pressure tolerance to exercises.

What if the report showed that there was an ST-segment change (depression or elevation)? In your future careers, you may review a file of a patient, client, or student and discover that during a stress test they had ST-segment changes. Research this a bit and provide possible health concerns associated with this.

The major cause of ST-segment is myocardial Ischemia or myocardial infarction (Puelacher et al., 2017). If the reports show that there was a change of the ST-segment, it will warrant an alternative approach to the therapy. It is crucial to analyze the patients underlying heart conditions as they determine the best exercise suitable for them. Myocardial Ischemia arises when there is limited blood flow to the heart, while myocardial infarction, also referred to as heart attack, occurs when a clot blocks blood from flowing into the heart. The ST-segment change may be an indication of either of the two severe problems or other minor health issues. However, maintaining a healthy lifestyle, which includes aerobic exercises, maybe effective remedies to the conditions.
