One of the biggest single-day demonstrations in the USA took place on 21st January 2017, by women. The protest named the Women's March held in every part of the nation attracted overwhelming support from women as they protested over their rights and upheld civil rights in public demonstrations. Over six hundred protests were held in almost all the major cities and quite a number in small towns in the USA. In solidarity with other women, different parts of the continent held similar marches, attracting millions of protesters worldwide. The demonstrators flooded both the airwaves and the streets with over eleven million tweets all over the world in support of the Women's March. The march was a landmark event in championing gender equity globally. Through the march, girls and women's rights have risen globally, however not to the required standards.

Another important landmark in the shaping of the female gender was on the international women's day, celebrated on March 8th, 2020. As expected, women are usually gifted with various gifts and flowers, but this was not the case for some women in the streets of New York. There was a mass protest of thousands of women demanding better working conditions, good wages, and the right to vote. This was a major indicator showing that gender equity is still far to be achieved in the United States despite efforts from the government and the United Nations.

The writer’s major influencers of her gender are family and her friends. Different dynamics in the family influenced her gender specialization. Since she is a girl, she plays more roles in the housework compared to the boys. At her younger age, her parents bought her dolls to play with. Her parents chose the activities she would feel comfortable participating in. This helped in influencing gender roles. Based on her gender, her family members communicate to her with emotion and often use emotional words. When faced with challenges, she is encouraged to deal with the difficulty of focusing on her adjustments and emotional expression. She spends most of the time with her mother, which greatly influences her behavior since she imitates almost everything from the mother.

Since girls interact more with other girls' peers frequently, this is also another influence on the writer's gender. She engaged herself in more dyadic relations with other girls during the early stages of her life. She spends more time interacting with her peers through self-disclosure and social conversations. Her ability to react selflessly to a presumed conflict circumstance also influences her gender. She receives various provisions in her interactions with her friends, such as great affection, closeness, trust acceptance, and nurturance. The female gender mainly characterizes these. However, the close and dyadic friendship bonds between her friends are never long-lasting. This is because most girls feel bored with a friendship easily and have the capability of making new friends first.

Coming from American culture, this has influenced the writer's perspective on gender. Culture refers to a piece of common knowledge and a way of doing things shared among a large group of individuals. The American culture has helped the writer realize that both human rights and cultural rights are rights for both genders. These rights enable creativity in every human being and allow cultural diversity. These rights also promote gender equity and eliminate gender discrimination.

The American culture has enabled her to realize that the different roles of women and men are culturally established, and they change with respect to place and time. Gender stereotypes may be created as a result of a belief of certain roles are for a particular gender. Both men and women should be flexible in doing different roles in society as the need arises. No task should solely be left for a specific gender. This kind of stereotype leads to gender discrimination.

With changes in society, gender roles have changed rapidly. Changes in these roles have mainly been caused by the emergence of new family structures, media, and education. In the modern USA culture, some women earn more than their husbands hence showing the zeal and ambitions in women if given equal chances to men. Fathers, too, are becoming more concerned and involved in the upbringing of their children.

The culture reveals that the patterns of cultural participation are different between men and women. Both genders differ in preferences of the activities they like participating in. For instance, more men watch sports than females while on the other hand, more women read books than men. In matters of society and family development, the men and the women should both participate actively without overburdening a specific gender.

The American culture largely advocates for gender equity. Gender equity is where both women and men are given equal opportunities in every sector. They should both have equal rights and be treated equally in every place. This implies that no gender is superior to the other gender. All genders should be left to undertake activities they are pleased with no restrictions of any kind.

Every gender identity should be respected and be given a safe and conducive environment for them to express their views and qualities without bearing in mind their stereotypes. Different genders dress differently, being a female, the writer wears in a more feminine manner as an identity of the gender.

The writer feels her gender, mostly in different places. One of the places she feels it most is in her family. This is mainly with her immediate family, where her parents and her siblings pamper her. Being the only girl in the family, her family treats her as a child. She feels protected and loved so much. When talked to, they are all keen on her feeling taking care not to hurt her in any way. She only participates in women's roles while at home. She finds time to engage in social conversations with her friends and her mother most of the time. This makes her feel her gender even more.

Dinners are also places where the writer feels her gender most. This is mainly because she perceives dinner as a social place where she spends time with her friends and family. She mostly prefers dinners with her friends. With her love of fashion, she dresses well as a woman for dinner and keeps times. She feels her gender mainly through the long conversations with the friends and the bond and closeness they share. This is mainly because women are known for their strong bonds while together and share a lot of things with their trusted friends.

The writer feels her gender on dates. This is mainly dating with the opposite gender. Being a woman, she likes being treated with dignity and respect in dates. She chooses her dress well to meet her expectations and her man’s too. During the date, she behaves herself not to ruin the date. The treatment she receives during her date from her date makes her feel her gender since she likes being treated like a respectable woman. Her dress code is always a true reflection of a woman, a thing she takes pride in.

The writer feels her gender is not evolving, but rather it is concreated. She has always felt she was a female since her childhood, and she still feels the same till now. The writer loves her gender so much, and she feels proud of being a woman. The female gender has a bright future, and this is a future of gender equity. Women should be empowered to undertake every activity they wish to without any discrimination. They should be ready to take up roles perceived to be of the male gender and perform better than the men. No role both in the family and the society should be left for a particular gender. The writers see a future with no gender-based violence against women. Women should also stand up in contests for political seats just as the men.
