Eliezer replaced a Sighetian Jewish woman in the same bovine vehicle. Madame Schachter is like a madwoman, shouting that she sees furnaces far out, every hour. When trains reach the Auschwitz crematorium early, she appears to be a prophet.
Elie's cousin Stein
Eliezer, a Belgian uncle, whom he met at Auschwitz with his aunt. Antwerp, Belgium Eliezer tries to strengthen his confidence and lies with Stein, convincing him that his family is still alive and safe.
j. Elie Wiesel
The protagonist of the night and the poet Elie Wiesel 's stand-in. The Holocaust robs Eliezer of his faith in God and shows him the biggest inhumanity that man may have. Night observes Eliezer 's spiritual quest, but Eliezer stays true to his father with a few tests on his morals.

Eliezer encounters Dr. Mengele, who was already famous when he appears in Auschwitz. Mengele was a ruthless physician who supervised the Auschwitz / Birkenau archipelago. Mengele 's writings dubbed the "Angel of Death," condemned the killing of numerous prisoners in the gas chambers. He also carried out terrible experiments in the boys' house.
