The Iliad and Odyssey involve the Bronze era, ancient Greeks, or the Mycenaean period, which thrived around 1600-1100 BC. The epic tale revolves around the period Moses commanded the Jews from Egypt through David's reign. The Greeks in these grand narratives comprise of latecomers to the region currently known as Greece (Martin 9). The people occupying these places came from the eastern part of the Black Sea. The region borders the Caucasus, an area surrounding the Caspian seas, where Turkey, Iran, and Russia share their borders. The tale of Prometheus, shackled to Caucus's hill, indicates an essential connection between the cultures of the Sumerians (Martin 11). Mycenaean populace affected other people across the globe. Traditional Greeks adored fertility goddesses, such as Ishtar, Athena, Aphrodite, and Hera. The tale depicts the Greeks as peaceful people who loved agriculture. However, the literature of the Iliad represents military propaganda that substantiates the Mycenaean administration. Also, the Odyssey verifies the colonization of Sicily and Italy to the West. The Iliad and Odyssey transformed into folklore.

The Iliad narrates the story of two primary Bronze Era in the Greek alliance during the war. Deriving from the Trojan War, World War I, and II, the narrative indicates the current trade wars between the United States and the Middle East (especially China) (Yaacob & Ismail 7). The Iliad, both in scope and style, depicts an intra-cultural battle engaging persons of the same rudimentary ethos. Besides, the Odyssey assumes a different aspect in which it defines association with the pre-Mycenaean Mediterranean philosophies (Yaacob & Ismail 7). The narrative emphasizes a family battle to make ends meet after the Trojan War.

The Iliad depicts a disagreement between two correspondingly bright and competent crew, while Odyssey tells of an association between witches and monsters. The two tales contribute significantly to the social and cultural impact on human civilization since they depict life struggles modern people undergo, such as the fight against diseases, crime, discrimination, gender disparity, and poverty (Mutschler 14). Critics claim that while the Jews provided the religion to the Western nations, the Greeks offered social and cultural values to the universe. Iliad and Odyssey showed people heroism, love, and communication.
