Sports art is a relatively new art which has gained popularity in the recent past. Sporting art has a broader artistic scope. Sports arts just like other forms of art can be used as an avenue for the possibility of the portrayal of a conception of life issues such as social movement and moods.

Joseph Grozer was popular for his artworks which were mostly focused on conveying a story of a boxing match. His engraving skills were quite appealing with aesthetic and educational values. The boxing match between Richard and Mendoza Daniel which took place at Hampshire in the year 1788 was engraved by Grozer. In this masterpiece, he portrays the contestants at the start of the first of the three awaiting fights. In the background, a crowd in a cheerful mood is portrayed. This fight lasts only 29 minutes and Humphrey wins within the stipulated time. A social concern rises in this piece because of prejudicial treatment of one key fighter ("Joseph Grozer - Person - National Portrait Gallery"). Only one fighter was treated with more respect on arrival, as he was provided with two pigeons by the Jewish. If Mendoza won the fight, a white pigeon would carry the results and a black one if he could lose. It also portrayed a different form of the social status of the fighters.

In the second portrait of Mendoza and Humphrey which represented the fight at Stilton, Grozer took this chance to communicate how some social challenges in life can be overcome with resilience and consistency. In this fight, he portrayed Mendoza as a resilience since he won this fight after losing the previous one.

Rob Caddick is renown for his football painting which usually serves to connect football to the community (Weeks). He integrates elements of realism with impressionist styles particularly on the faces of the portraits which effectively conveyed the emotions of the individuals and their social wellbeing (Weeks). Using oil on canvas and rich color display palette, his works have been utilized to promote social change.

Correspondingly, he uses visual appeal shapes, and colors to create the meaning of his artworks. In one of his works, minds of NFL, he uses different colors to portray the motivations, reasons to continue playing, resilience, of five Broncos players, this painting significantly conveys a theme of motivation to the young aspiring players or non-players to put their effort to achieve like the other five. This painting was also put for sale to facilitate the charities of Denver Broncos (Jhabvala). This is a noble course as all the funds from the artworks would be channeled towards social change process. The funds were used to promote quality of life among the unfortunate individuals in the society. The works of Rob can be seen in the sports events as he actually paints real events as well as from the pictures he takes from the football matches. Even after the Broncos won Super Bowl 50, Rob added more color to his painting on the entrance to the training room using mural with the team's trophies engraved on it.

Conclusion

Sport and sports arts are quite interrelated in the essence of the message portrayed. In sports, players are trained and are always expected to live lives that would not cause them their potential. Sports arts tends to capture the mood of the game, it replicates the determination and effort channeled towards victory by players, most of which also leads to social change. Sports art is a medium through which life issues such as socioeconomic factors can be conveyed.
