The Coca-Cola Company is one of the major beverage producers in America. They manufacture and sell beverages to bottling enterprises. Soft drinks production is a competitive business hence production techniques must be continuously improved (Baah, Sandra, and Linda 15). This enables Coca-Cola to meet the high-quality standards for their beverages by utilizing the most cost-effective manufacturing techniques. The major operations involved in their production include creating the packaging material, and canning and bottling the final drink. Packaging is made possible by manufacturing close to the bottling plant to save on the costs of distributing the bottles. They use minimum quantities of packaging materials in the plastics and can bottles to make it easier to reprocess or crush at the end of the life cycle. At the canning plant, the cans are delivered in bulk. They shape their cans into an open cup to prepare them to receive drinks. The ring pull ends are to be fitted after filling. Hence, the cans are not fully formed during production. After verifying that the cans have no faults, they are rinsed ready for filling. Coca-Cola has more than 900 bottling facilities across the world.
