-The mean age of women giving birth in U.S. is lower than Italy as it is 27 to 28 years while Italy is 30 to 31 years

-The rate of births outside marriage has increased in both Italy and U.S. However U.S.'s rate is high as it was 40.25 in 2014 while Italy's rate was 28.8% in the same year.

-The divorce rate has reduced in U.S. and increased in Italy however U.S. rate is higher as it was 3.2% in 2016 while Italy was 1.8% in the same year.

- The rate of children with two parents has reduced in the two countries however Italy's rate is higher than in U.S as it is 85.4% in 2017 compared to 68.9% in U.S. within the same year.

- There has been an increase in parents with single parents. The rate in U.S. is higher as it was 27.1% in 2017 while Italy's was 14.5%.

- Children that live in other types of households except the ones named above increased in U.S. but reduced in Italy. They were 4.05% in U.S. in 2017 and 0.15 in Italy in the same year.

Sex education is a taboo in Italy which limits schools to introduce it to students. The Catholic doctrines, as well as conservative people in the country fight against it and most students, rarely receive it. However, U.S. has full support from the government, parents, and society. Therefore, children in U.S. are literate on sex education compared to those in Italy.

Predominant Marriage practices and customs in Italy and U.S.

In Italy, people marry at 30 years while in U.S. people start from a young age. Most marriages in Italy are done in church however in U.S. some are done in church while others by the registrar. Men in both countries are expected to be the breadwinners however since women are also educated and have good jobs, they are supporting their husbands to pay bills. In case of a divorce, married people in Italy and U.S. split their property based on their agreement however in U.S., one may end up paying alimony.
