Scenario 1
As the new Chief Police, an assessment of the problems resulting in the real challenge would be looked at. Then measure to make it better would be sought. The important thing about making the relationship secure would be that it will help to amend the relationships that had been previously ruined by the conflicts. This would in turn help to create a proper environment where the police and community would work together to do away with injustice. Through creating trues, the relationship will be achieved to help in the adoption of tactics that would aid in the resolution of conflict. Concentration on tactics based on problem-solving would be critical especially where residents in an area are involved. When residents work together with the police, there would be a reduction in crime, especially where the community members are willing to work hand in hand with the police the Baltimore Sun (2019).
Scenario 2: Traffic Issue
A police officer should be cautious of weapons and be able to detect if a firearm is present or not. The police officer should be conscientious not to ignore anything like the bags that he saw and felt suspicious about or else he is prone to be in danger. United Nations (6). If a police officer has a sufficient reason to arrest a suspect, the court decided that police is constitutionally permitted to do so. The suspect can also be detained for a reasonable period to enhance public safety. Investigative detention was created to help arrest suspect as the investigation continues. This led to police being allowed to frisk which the two passengers should enable the officer to do to ensure safety. This will significantly help to deal with the current issue since the law protects the police officer Callahan (2016).
Scenario 3: Counter-Terrorism
There are four pillars established to proceed successfully with the counter-terrorism measures. The first is to have a plan which requires that the police officers especially when it comes to searches they should ensure that they have proper identification which includes name, nationality, and rank of the police officer together with warrants to search the premises. The second is to have measures to prevent combat terrorism; the searches are to ensure that the individuals are protected and are willing to let officers do their job by not taking up weapons. The quests are to ensure that the individuals are protected from joining combats and prevented from having any weapons that may influence them to feel like they can also form part of the war. Teaching them the importance of peace and waiting for assistance from the government and the United Nations Security Council displays to them that there are people who care about them and willing to protect the United Nations (2016).
Scenario 4: Juvenile Case
Assault is a criminal threat that is intentional by actions or words to do violence to a person or another. For an adult, assault is considered as a misdemeanor that is punishable by probation for six months, a fine of $500or 60 days in jail. Although the 1st Amendment of the Constitution guarantees freedom of speech, a threat is not considered to be a freedom of speech. Children are seen to be reckless especially when it comes to the word that they use when angry. In the case of the battery, there is actual bodily harm caused. Juveniles in case of battery and assault Justin may be charged as an adult unless in the fact that the circumstances are the very severe scenario, but he is only that it is not for the first time. A child treated as an adult faces more severe punishment than a child should receive. A charge of felony or misdemeanor can be made for him, diversionary causes, counseling, fines or residential treatment programs would accrue as penalties Ansara Law Firm (2019).
Scenario 5
A police officer should be cautious when handling a situation like this one that involves an armed suspect. The skills acquired during training require to be critically applied in this case. The officer should consider a lot of issues in his mind before taking action on the suspect. The age, mental health, state of mind or whether the person is intoxicated are some of the things that the police officer should consider in his mind. Once suspect grabs his knife, the police officer should retreat at a safe distance reach out for his weapon and order the suspect to put down his gun. At this time the suspect and the police officer can engage in a conversation. The conversation is said to be very important of all other parts. The police should notify the suspect what may happen if it fails to do as he is being told. If the suspect is very hostile, then the police can use reasonable force to make him do as is required Danylko (2014).
Scenario 6
The proceedings begin with the arrest of the suspect where the cause has to be made clear to the person being arrested in this case the murder suspect. On being taken to custody the right to remain silent and to an attorney is issued to suspect. The bail/bond hearings are conducted after there are sufficient grounds to grant bail/bond. If the crime is a felony, the accused will be charged either through a preliminary hearing or one by a grand jury. Then proceed to an arraignment where the defendant is informed of the charges against them and required to enter a plea of "guilty" or "not guilty." The pre-trial is conducted where there is discovery, pre-trial preparation, plea bargain and then the actual trial. After the trial is the verdict when the case is closed, and the defendant has the option to appeal O'Meara Law (2017). The defenses for an accused can be intoxication, the mistake of fact and self-defense.
