Introduction
It is worth mentioning that there were many events that lead to the world war two. Although the war began when Britain avowed battle on Germany after the conquest of Poland, it was largely as a result of the turmoil left by the world war one. This essay seeks to explore the different and complex causes that lead to world war two. It will specifically look at great depression, Japanese expansion, treaty of Versailles, Hitler, and Nazi party.
One of the central origins of the WW2 was great depression. Notably, the Second World War followed after the First World War which was a period that was marked by great economic suffering in all nations around the world. The economic suffering brought great depression among the people who were working out through great pain and struggle to survive (Kennedy, 2). As a result, the suffering created unstable governments and disorder all over the world that in return lead to world war two.
Japanese expansion was another cause of the Second World War. In essence, during the period just before the war began, Japan had rapidly grown. However, Japan being an island nation, they lacked enough land and resources to sustain their rapid growth. As a result, to gain new resources and sustain its growth, Japan began to invade land and territories such as Manchuria and China. Therefore, the nations began to fight for supremacy and freedom leading to world war two.
Thirdly, the ww2 was also caused by the treaty of Versailles. It is worth mentioning that the First World War was completed with the ratification of the treaty between Germany and other allied powers. German had lost the war and therefore, it was subjected to harsh laws that were dictated by the treaty. In this treaty, Germany was forced to accept and take up the responsibility of the war. It meant that Germany was forced to take responsibility for all the damages suffered by the ally nations which required that Germany pays a huge sum of money which was known as reparations to the allies (Adamthwaite, 61). As a result of the treaty, Germany was left in economic ruins that led the government and the people in great suffering and ruin.
Lastly, Hitler and the Nazi party was another major cause of the world war two. From the treaty of Versailles, the Germans suffered great economic ruin. As a result, the people became desperate for a leader or someone who would turn their situations around by improving their economy and restoring their national pride. Hitler was the one person who offered the kind of hope that Germany was looking for. He led through dictatorship and openly resented the restrictions the treaty put on Germany (Taylor, 65). While he openly talked of peace, he also secretly began to rearm the people of Germany and slowly they began to expand its empire in order to restore its power. He ended up taking over Austria and Czechoslovakia.
Conclusion
To conclude this discussion, it is worth mentioning that the Second World War was as a result of many different and complex causes that worked together to trigger the war. One is that the people from all over the world were facing a financial crisis that led to depression that in return led to the war. Secondly, Japan had rapidly expanded and took over other nation's power and territories. Thirdly, Germany had lost to its allies thus leading to financial ruin and suffering of the people. Hitler who came to their rescue in the bid to regain the nation's power did it by expanding their empire and even taking over other territories.
