Introduction
Change is a risky activity that many organizations fail to recognize or do not realize the intended outcome. Some of the images of pressures for change include director, navigator, caretaker, coach, interpreter, and nurturer. Director is mainly based on the image of the management as a control and of the change outcome being achieved. Coaching primarily relies on building the right set of skills and values that are deemed best to achieve the desired outcomes. Navigator is the control through external factors meaning that there are some factors which the managers or person in charge has no control over. The interpreter is where the manger creates meaning for other organizational members, therefore, helping the organization and people involved to makes sense of the several organizational actions and events. Under the caretaker, the manager's control is mainly impacted by external and internal factors that are beyond his or her scope. In nurturer, changes in the organization can have a significant impact on the organization, and the people in charge may not even have control over these changes.
The best approach to managing change is coaching. Couching can be described as a way of development where an experienced individual supports a junior staff, client, or lanners to achieve specific goals, both professional and personal, through providing guidance and training (Bezner et al., 2020).
There are several reasons why coaching is better in managing change, and they include the following. Primarily, it empowers individuals and encourages them to take responsibility. When people gain more skills through coaching, they are able to perform better and get involved in more activities in the organization (Bezner et al., 2020). Moreover, they become more responsible and active.
Besides, coaching improves individual performance and increases employee and staff engagement. When an employee receives training and guidance, they become confident that they can perform better. Because they have the skills, they are able to engage with other employees and offer training and guidance (Bezner et al., 2020). Consequently, coaching helps in identifying individuals and organizational strengths and development opportunities. Importantly, coaching aids identify and develop high potential employees and aids to empower and motivate staff members to excel.
Introducing new technology in an organization is essential, but it is equally vital to make sure that the people who will be using the technology understand how it works. It is essential to employ other people to train employees. I was working in an organization, and they brought a new system. The organization rained all the employees, and there were improved services and profitability.
