Introduction

Multipurpose sport facilities are usually designed to accommodate a large number of people at the same time. These facilities are designed with wide corridors, entrances, and doorways. The multipurpose sports facilities usually have large parking areas where spectators who are coming to watch sporting activities can park their vehicles. The multipurpose sports facilities like the stadiums also have large sitting areas where sports fans sit as they attend various sporting activities. It is also important to note that the seating areas in these multipurpose sports facilities are designed in such a way that all the seating areas have a good view of what is happening in the central area where the field is and where all the sports action occurs. It is for the reasons stated above that many event promoters believe that multipurpose sports facilities make excellent venues for hosting other events that are not sports related such as music concerts.

Venue management may make their multipurpose sports facility attractive for music concerts by decorating the central area inside the complex where the music concert will occur by disco lights and fog blowing machines. They would also ensure that the main stage from where the music artists will perform is located in an area in the field where all the people seated within the complex will be able to see what is happening on stage without struggling or moving from their seats. When it comes to music concerts, it is evident that one of the requirements will be that of ensuring that the music performed will be well heard in every corner of the complex without having echoes because most of these multipurpose sports facilities are large with many huge rooms (Aicher, Paule-Koba & Newland, 2019). The facility are made attractive by constructing them using the latest materials.

Thus there may be a challenge to the venue management who may have to seek professional help on issues such as sound dampening, the type, and quality of sound system to use and also where to place the speakers for the best result. To be ready for such a music concert held in a multipurpose sports facility many parties apart from the venue management need to be involved. For example, one needs to engage the event planners who are the ones who planned the music concert and selected the venue; thus they need to be involved in preparing the place for the show. Also, the police need to be engaged as such music concerts are likely to attract large crowds. Involving the police is an essential step since they will utilize their experience in ensuring that they plan for the safety of the people during the music concert (Fried, 2015). The police will be involved in things such as providing that there is a temporary police post within the complex where any matter concerning security may also be reported they can help in the planning out of emergency exits which will be used in case of an emergency occurring during the concert. Also, health officials need to be involved because they need to plan on how a health care emergency can be handled if it happens during the show. The health officials would also set up a temporary area where anyone with an emergency can access them during the concert, and they should also have a least two ambulances on standby.

Conclusion

To sum up, multipurpose sport facilities are useful for they present the opportunity to undertake several different events. They do have large open spaces which act as the ground on which different sports are played. Modern multipurpose sporting facilities are designed in a way that the grounds may be converted so that they can be able to host various games, for example, the open ground can be changed to host a football match, a rugby match, a hockey, basketball, and handball among other sports.
