Introduction
Document proposal is a detailed paper that communicates the critical details to include in the film (Bernard 22). It is a welcoming package for the firm and a representative of the actual firm. A documentary proposal is appropriate in convincing support and financial assistance in filming it (Bernard 27). The paper involves an expository documentary proposal on someone who is moving to America for the first time.
The documentary is of a story that happened before and is still happening currents to persons who continue to come to America. Several people who moved to America from other nations have their own specific stories on American life experience, especially the first five years of migration. People enter America either legally, for instance, using green cards and different illegally, but they all have their narrations of reception in America.
The cases of difficulties encountered when new in America, is relevant to broad categories of audience. However, the main targets of the documentary are the American migration authorities, people who intend to move to America, and human rights movements and bodies. The parties involved shall get informed on the experience of new immigrants to formulate laws that support them and make their lives easy. The human rights bodies shall push for respect for human rights and develop a strategy of solving the issues. To the public, more caution will be taken, and the reality is known.
The choice of this documentary has been influenced by the continuous cases of complaints from new immigrants to America. Not all immigrants had a bad experience when they entered America; however, the more substantial proportion reports unfriendly reception. Moreover, more people worldwide have a passion for moving to America, as it's perceived to have plenty of job opportunities. As immigration to America is a norm and shall continue happening, it drew me to thinking of a documentary to expose experiences of new immigrants.
My role in the storytelling is to ensure all the concerns raised by new immigrants in America are exposed to the public for transparency. People from Africa and Asian countries jets into America daily for such a green pasture with high expectations of success. Unfortunately, some face problems in adopting the new American climate and culture to extend their regret to their move to America (Bernard 26). With exposure, the concerns can be solved, and the new immigrants enjoy their life inside America.
Inherent problems in film making could be changing some aspects due to the emergence of new approaches, and the variable might differ, and the film doesn't go as previously planning. Also, there might be a miscommunication of the film where different participants have different opinions on the formats, audience, and message to portray (Bernard 34). Unclear video and sound are other additional inherent problems of film making.
"The New Americans," a documentary filmed in 2004, covers the life of new immigrants in America, and the struggle they take to fit into the society is a significant inspiration for my documentary (Germano 10). Other documentaries that relate and are notable influencers are "The Other Side of Immigration" and "Which way Home" produced in 2009 and 2004, respectively (Germano 12). They give insights on the mass immigration to America to search for employment and the impacts of leaving their homes.
The documentary shall shed light on new immigrant challenges and enable orderly immigration procedures. The authorities shall develop informed strategies of regulation and monitoring people who enter into American boundaries for the first time. The document shall have an impact on the whole world in solving immigration issues. Countries shall have proper regulations concerning both immigration and emigration to protect their citizens.
