Afterward, she had to wait until the year 1997 when her stirring role in the original part of the movie Selina's biopic of the same name earned her a nomination for the Golden Globe Awards. She proceeded to clinch the prestigious award that came with a cash prize worth over a million United States Dollars. Although revered by many, Jenifer Lopez has had a rough time settling in her life with a husband due to the numerous divorce suits she has been involved in her life. This has contributed to a lot of frustration and resentment in her as far as marriage and marriage life are concerned, therefore, losing followership among the married members of the society (Jocelyn 2011, n.p). Most elderly view her as a loser when it comes to matters dealing with marriage and relationships, hence not listening to her music often. As opposed to Beyonce who has found her ground as a defender of family and an outgoing artist hence gaining support from both millennial and married persons, Jenifer Lopez has been successful in keeping followership from the youth and members of her Latino community. Many hold the view that Jenifer has been the problematic one in her marriages, and this has tainted the view of the public on her character and values. This brings out a clear distinction between them.

Conclusion

In conclusion, Beyonce and Jenifer Lopez are as dissimilar to some degree. While Jenifer Lopez has aged as compared to Beyonce and has lived her life struggling with settling in marriage to the extent of being frustrated with it, Beyonce has settled in a marriage that is both popular and admired by many. With this alone, Beyonce can be seen as more successful as compared to Jenifer Lopez. A major portion of Beyonce's earning has been contributed to by the sales from her albums, the most significant one being her self-titled album that logged a record sale of 617,000 copies in only three days.

Even though both icons had had some attempt to shape the humanitarian space, Beyonce still ranks higher. Beyonce has had a clean record as far as marriage issues are concerned. She has further been on the forefront in spearheading movements on gender rights throughout the United States hence earning her close relationships and support from the influential people in the society and the United States music industry in general (Zeisler 2016, n.p). On her part, Jenifer Lopez has also been involved in women's rights advocacy, though majorly prominent among the Latino community. Many remain hesitant in giving her credit since they are waiting for her to nationalize her women's rights campaign, in a bid to compensate for her badly damaged reputation due to the divorces she has gone through.
